...Made my first foray into buying music online yesterday. My excuse being this is to celebrate the extension of my contract at school. + getting into school in September + also I haven't bought any music or gone to any shows since I got here- nearly a year ago. + also I have a pretty juicy (790$) tax return coming to me this year. So. Went on E-bay. Got a paypal account. Pointed + clicked the following over the past twenty-four hours:..."All Shook Down"- CD- Replacements. This is now my favorite 'Mats album. Surely this is because I am nearly 30 + have much better taste than when I was 17. Whatever. It ties with Mono/Stereo for the best thing Paul W has ever put out. 10$ US included shipping...."Make a Little Noise"- DVD/CD- Joel Plaskett Emergency. Jesus I can't wait to see this. The JP Emergency is the best thing to come out of Nova Scotia since Alexander Kieth's. Ripped off a bit here... at 23$ US (27$ Canadian) it came out to be ten dollars more than through the Maplemusic website. Oh well. A lesson learned. Always compare prices, even on the 'net....Staying with the JP Emergency: picked up "Ashtray Rock" CD, the new album. Bought from Maplemusic Records. 19$ Canadian included shipping...."The Last" CD- Leatherface- Except for a couple of goof-tracks, this whole thing is excellent. Reissued by BYO Records to include the Pope album. Purchased from BYO website. 16$ US includes shipping...."Instrument" DVD- Fugazi. I will finally own this. Yes I will. $17 US includes shipping.--I can see how this would be addictive. I've got a couple of bids I am waiting to hear back on in a week or so (I'm not saying on what because I don't want you to outbid me). My only complaint is the insane amount some of these outlets charge for shipping. After these go through I am going to put my credit card away. It would be almost too easy to spend another 2,3,4 hundred dollars...
