Alright, It's Christmas

Okay - I may be pushing it with two posts within twenty minutes.

Either way - Sinead O'Connor's rendition of the classic holiday hit, "Silent Night" is so eerie. But, I like it. Weird?

Anyways - listen to it. Check it out. And if you're still wanting something different, check out the Arms Race Three Remix below.

Fallout Boy With a Decked Out Rap Posse

Can you imagine a song with Fallout Boy and rap heavy hitters: Kanye West, Travis from Gym Class Heroes, Tyga, Lupe Fiasco, Paul Wall, Skin Head Rob, and Lil Wayne?

Well, here you go. It's the song "Arms Race" remixed for the third time.

It's got a sweet beat and some good verses. Check it out.

30 Seconds to Mars / Kanye West?

I just got my hands on this crazy awesome cover. I'm sure you've heard of 30 Seconds to Mars, at least if you listen to popular radio.

Recently, they covered Kanye West's "Stronger". It's not too bad. Of course, it doesn't touch Kanye, but it's interesting to hear Stronger being sung like this.

Another Kanye Remix

I got my hands on a great remix of "Can't Tell Me Nothin" by Kanye West. Lil Wayne has been compared numerous times to a young Jay Z. On this track you can really sense the resemblance.

The remic features Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, as well as an all new verse from Kanye. Check it out.

Live From New York Its Bright Eyes

I had the phenomenal chance to see Bright Eyes live tonight at Radio City Music Hall. It stuns me how much Conor Oberst has obtained in the last few years. He's gone from playing at a nearly full Bowery Ball Room to a sold out crowd at Radio City Music Hall. It's quite a stunt.

In honor of the great show as well as a feat for Conor himself, I've thrown a track from the newest album, Cassadega, entitled "If The Breakman Turns My Way".

Enjoy

Rare David Bazan

I had the opportunity to catch David's show here in New York a few days ago. The set was fantastic, and left me eagerly awaiting his next album release.

Now, you know times when you think, "I wish this guy would cover this song"? We all have some desire locked away somewhere to hear one of our favorite artists cover one of our favorite songs.

I had the luxury of hearing one of my favorite artists belting one of my favorite songs of all time. It was a pleasant time when hope and reality meet. David Bazan covered Leonerd Cohen's "Hallelujah". That's right. And I've got my hands on a rare recording. It's beautiful. Check it out.

Jay Z Remixes Stronger

I just got my hands on a remix of Kanye West's "Stronger" featuring Jay Z. I was expecting Jay Z to try to steal the song, as he always does, but he came alongside Kanye on this song.

The flow is different than any Jay I've heard before. The quality isn't the best, but the song's great.

Give it a listen. I've got another remix I'll be throwing up soon.

American Gangster: Jay Z (part 2)

Here's another song off of American Gangster. It's called "Blue Magic". It's a bit slower and has a different flow than Roc Boys, but it's still good.

American Gangster: Jay Z

Jay Z truly is an American gangster. Anybody who knows his story couldn't disagree. Here is a song from his upcoming album, American Gangster. I'll add another one immediately after.

Heres what Jay Z released to the press about the album:

On November 6, Roc-A-Fella Records and JAY-Z will release the new album AMERICAN GANGSTER. Separate from the official motion picture soundtrack, this collection of all-new original material is a musical journey and lyrical interpretation of snapshots from the upcoming motion picture American Gangster, which pairs Oscar® winners Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. Based on the true story of criminal mastermind Frank Lucas, who came up from the streets of New York in the '70s, the film is produced by Academy Award®-winning producer Brian Grazer and directed and produced by Ridley Scott. It opens on November 2.

The conceptual, full body of work from the new album balances the line between pure entertainment and real life. JAY-Z draws upon past experiences, speaking to the harsh reality of the drug trade still taking place in our nation's cities. While not glorifying the Frank Lucas story, JAY-Z articulates the lure of a gangster's life and stands as an example of one who chose to leave those streets behind to go on and become one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time.

Throughout AMERICAN GANGSTER, JAY-Z brings the audience into a world rich in familial relationships, hustling and the lasting effects of drugs on a community. Through its musical tone, the album complements the story as told in the major motion picture release.

So check out Roc Boys

Nov. 19 Pre-Game

Two weeks from Monday, thousands of people will pack into the Radio City Music hall to hear Conor Oberst and Bright Eyes. The Felice Brothers will be opening up for him.

I've been an Oberst fan for a couple of years. I'm surprised that I'm just now getting around to seeing him live. Hopefully he'll be pulling out all the stops since he's playing at such a high-end venue.

This post is my pre-game. I'm getting re-excited for the show.

I've added the mp3 for Lime Tree, the closing track from Bright Eyes' Cassadega.

The song is phenomenal. The song discusses the regret and hopelessness of abortion and using cocaine to numb the helplessness. Check it out. Also, below, is a nice little picture of the Felice Brothers.
