Among the musical acts scheduled to appear on this year's Jerry Lewis Telethon: Tony Orlando, Celine Dion, Paul Anka, Goo Goo Dolls, Lee Greenwood, Dave Matthews Band, Jo Dee Messina, Cheap Trick, Maureen McGovern, George Clinton, and the Village People. We know Maureen will sing "The Morning After" ... do you suppose Paul Anka will do his version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit?" "Black Hole Sun?"

  5. aclason says I have to say, I really dug that Paul Anka album. It goes beyond camp into actually appealing arrangements. Listen to Eye of the Tiger and tell me that wasn't meant to be a big band swing piece. In a sense Anka takes some songs that simply needed swing to redeem them and does just that. You can shoot arrows at me as well...

  6. fairportfan says If you can find it, there's an SF story by Theodore Sturgeon from 1958, entitled *The Comedian's Children*. After you read that story, you will never look at a Jerry Lewis telethon in the same way...
