...this version with Feist on vocals. This is from the Bee Hives release. Man her vocals are hard to deny on this version.

Studio or Alternate Feist on vocals version? What are peoples thoughts? I am really hard pressed to pick one. I like each for different reasons but overall I am really 50/50 split on this. I can't decide. The Feist vocals vs the more louder studio version?

indiepixie. Totally aggree. One of the best live shows I have seen in the last few years. The night I fell in love with Feist was the night I saw her open for BSS .

SO? what version grabs you? Which one do you prefer?

I'm quite biased toward the Feist version since I've not listened to BSS but have fallen in love w/Feist since discovering her new album here on Mog & Multiply. Feist just has a unique turn w/her vocals & she just knows how to imbue a song w/so much emotion. So I vote Feist for prez, lol!(Even though she's Canadian, heh)

I've heard the Studio version a bunch and love it but up until now never heard the Fiest version and I've gotta say I love it even more with her vocals, something about her voice, just being more smooth, more melodic...wow good stuff thanks for sharing

August. Feist for President? Sounds good to me. She is a lot more appealing to me then Clinton. :) Yeah, to bad she is Canadian. Maybe I will write her in anyways next year.

indiepixie. We seem to be tracking when it comes to our love of all things Feist and BSS. Shivers seems to be a good way to describe what I felt the first time I saw her live. Up to that point, I had enjoyed her music but seeing her live totally made everything click and I have loved her ever since.

Betherz. Glad you like. I remember the first time I heard the Feist on vocals version. I was completly floored.

the feist track gets my vote this time, very nice. she cant get it wrong, can she? i have trouble to enjoy the broken social scene. im deaf on that department, same for kings of leon. i guess one of these days they will grow on me. is clinton again on the game?

I like the first one more. She goes for fragile, he goes for tortured, so he wins in my book.

BSS! what's up with these canadians who freaking own. Stars, The Dears, Feist, Metric....damn the list just goes on and on.

That is a hard choice. I like both versions. Mike, have you ever heard that version of 'Major Label Debut' that Feist sings?

Wow, that's the first I've heard of the Feist version. Love it. Love both versions, but I'm leaning in her direction at the moment ... Very nice, thanks M!

i guess i am all listened-out with the original, from You Forget... to even Wicker Park, so the Feist version is sounding fresh at the moment. which is better? not to cop out but it really depends on what color i'm in.

I like both versions, but enjoyed the Feist take a little more.

Have you heard Feist's debut album, Monarch (Lay Your Jewelled Head Down)?

It's harder to find (I've heard it's occasionally sold at her shows), but I managed to track down a copy recently and it's rated AG (all-good). I'll try and post some of my favorite tracks soon.

Finally, back in early-to-mid May, Feist was on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" to promote her recent album. Kevin Drew from Broken Social Scene was there with her in the studio.

You can listen or watch the entire performance here: http://www.kcrw.com/music/programs/mb/mb070510feist

Danny. Yes. Bill Clinton's wife Hillary is running for President.

Anna. I love your qualifier for your pick. It fits your blondage stylee so well.

Pat. DUDE! I am totally with you. I pretty much love all of the bands that are affiliated with BSS. I just caught Apostle of Hustle and Do Make Say Think in concert last week.

Jeff. Hmm. I am not sure. Where can I hear it?

Ilay. I am with you on the cop out and that is pretty much the way I wrote my post. I cant pick one becasue they are both perfect in their own ways.

moovyphreak. I have heard Monarch several times. I have it floating around somewhere in my sea of mp3s. I have not heard it for a while. From what I remember it did not make a big impression on me but it would not hurt for me to revisit it since I love her last two releases so much. I love that kcrw performance. I love how KD just drops in and teaches her Safty Brakes about twenty minutes before they performed it. Classic. I LOVE the BSS collective.
