-
Track:Love Spreads
*EDIT* December 13, 2007. Added code for MOG's pre-Rhapsody mp3 player.The box: Delivered 12/4/07
.UPS had a delivery for me today and work was pretty busy. The anticipation to get home and set up the new toy was almost too much to bear. Thankfully my boss decided to close the office early due to more snowy/blizzard like conditions. Usually my drive home is never more then 25-30 minutes. Today was bordering on 45-50 minutes. All wanted to do is I just get home. It felt like I was being driven home by the Slowski’s. .The Turntable: Stanton T.90
.
.After setting the player up it was time to select my first slab-o-vinyl. My first option would have been something from The Stone Roses self titled release. Maybe Shoot You Down or Elephant Stone, but since I do not own it on vinyl (yet), I decided to go with the only Stone Roses vinyl I do have. I had bought the Love Spreads single back in my college days in Denver. After I got rid of my record player, I kept the 7” all these years. You know, because it is the Stone Roses. .First Record Played: The Stone Roses, Love Spreads (7’ Single)
.
.I listened to Love Spreads on my better stereo. The only problem was that my rc cable was not long enough to reach from the back of my amp to the turntable. I ended up having to plug it into a video jack on the front and it did not seem to work that well. I had to turn it up really loud to hear it. I will buy another cord and experiment using the actual phono jack instead next time. .After messing around and setting things up a bit more. I decided to move the turntable to my computer workstation area. I do not have a lot of room in this area so I placed the turntable on top of my receiver. I am not sure that it is a good idea with the heat that it can produce. I will monitor things and consider ways to re-arrange my computer workstation area..Workstation:
.I am not sure that I am comfortable with the speaker so close to the turntable. Is that an issue? Any thoughts on setup for a turntable would be appreciated. .
.Next project is to figure out how to use this Pyro Software that came with the turntable..Thanks again to Danny for all of your help. :)
