Exams this week have me up to my knickers in stress. However, the last two Nightlife events I posted were INCREDIBLE. What a Fabulous week to be a drunken mess. The week in review, shall we?
HELLAUX@Privus Lounge, Allston MA
Get there kinda early and have a few drinks with the DJ's and company before the real party begins. Everyone is very down to earth and expressive to say the least. The place itself is gorgeous; this was my first time at Privus and I was impressed with the asian fusion decor. Was not in love with the prices though, drinks run $9 and up. The crowd grew steadily bigger as it approached 11pm aka FREE BELVEDERE COCKTAILS HOUR. The bar exploded with drinkage and the bass got nice and gritty.
Sean & DJ Workforce opened up and honestly I can't remember if Jay K played but the music was A+ the whole night. Their soundsystem set up was perfect for the size of the place.
Roguewaves aka Justin and Zak played an awesome set at 12; notable tracks included some available on their website www.onthattip.info including the Shinichi Osawa remix of DE DE MOUSE's Light Night Dance, Ladyhawke's Back of the Van and Jean Nipon's Lost in Music.
Thanks again to the NightSociety, ClickClash, and onthattip for supplying the tunes, the dranks, and the debauchery. Looking foward to the next one, this was insane!

oh shut up, i know. This party gets a bad rap from just about everyone. It can be too top 40's at times and the crowd has a reputation for being 1. rude 2. confrontational 3. immature. If all of those things could be forgiven in one night, this was the night.
David Yarus, chief Buzz Officer of The College Party crew (www.thecollegeparty.com) hit a right note with many by offering groups rides inside the CollegeParty Hummer. We step out of the monsterous truck and stroll in around 10:30. The crowd? WAY more enthusiastic than I've seen in the past. As you can see on our faces, we are shocked and surprised! So great to see kids who actually come to dance and rock out!

Music, not bad!!! Resident DJ's E-Marcé and Texas Mike are crowd pleasers above all and its that kind of energy that creates the perfect atmosphere. Rather than play full versions of crowd favorites like BBD's Poison or Sir Mix A Lot's Baby Got Back, they teased an eager crowd with just a few tastes and going back into their eclectic mix of House/Electro/90's Throwback jams. Best songs of the night included Daft Punk's Harder Better Faster Stronger (sans Kanye), a slight bit of MGMT's Kids and an unidentified remix of Britney Spear's Womanizer.

Thanks goes out to everyone at the College Party Crew for helping my group get in at reduced price and for throwing a fabulous party. Expect me and the crew to rep shit and get buck@CAMPUS.

Grab yo' drank and smoke yo' smoke after work/school because here in Boston, Wed+Thurs are the new Fri+Sat.
Enjoy,
MDM
