I don't understand why some musicians make it and others don't. Its a crazy world. BRMC is one of those groups that I thought would break through because they had a different sound then most of the groups emerging at that time. BRMC came onto the scene when the strokes, libertines, and many others were garnering attention. They did sign with a major just like the others did. However, they were dropped right after Coachella 2004. This is a video of BRMC "Devils Waintin." BRMC really shines on stage. If you get the chance to see them, please do so.

I had the pleasure of having my face rocked off by BRMC a few months ago when they opened for Kings of Leon in Nashville. I had really never heard of them... needless to say I was a fan by the middle of their set. They started off with 2 or 3 acoustic tracks and then headed right onto some heavy rock'n'roll. I absolutely LOVED them. My brother and I was completely pumped afterward to see Kings of Leon, who we went to see mainly out of interest based on rave reviews from our friends...wow...they were total CRAP. The whole place was going nuts for them, but after seeing BRMC, KoL just paled in comparison. We actually left halfway through the set and gave our wristbands and stubs to a couple outside. That whole night would have been a bust had it not been for BRMC. I wonder what it feels like to be KoL and have a band that's better than you open for you.... lol. Sort of like when Hendrix opened for the Monkeys for a couple nights back in the day.

Yeah having BRMC open for ya didn't work out for U2 or the Rolling Stones in Europe either. I think there one of the better live bands out there and when you consider that their on the road for 3/4 of the year they can really put together a great show. Where other bands really have a tough time putting together a great live set.
As I have heard the story told Hendrix was booked as the summer opener for the Monkeys and removed after a few shows cuz he was peeling girls and boys domes...who knows whats true anymore.
