The band maintains a policy of affordable access to their work through low record and ticket prices and all concerts are all-ages.In addition to their recorded output Fugazi has released a documentary film/video called "Instrument" in collaboration with independent filmmaker, Jem Cohen. The feature length video offers a documentary overview of the the band's career thus far with footage shot in a variety of formats over the last 10 years combining concert, tour and studio material backed with a musical soundtrack by the band unique to the movie.Fugazi's most recent musical releases are "The Argument" 10 song lp and the "Furniture" 3 song single, both recorded in the spring of 2001 to be released in the Fall of 2001. These sessions mark the first studio appearance of long time roadie and second drummer Jerry Busher who plays additional drums and percussion on a number of the tracks on both releases. The recordings were once again made in collaboration with long time Fugazi engineer Don Zientara at Inner Ear studios.Prior to forming Fugazi the members of the band played in various other bands with releases available on the DischordIan MacKaye: Teen Idles, Minor Threat, Skrewbald, Egg Hunt, Embrace, The EvensBrendan Canty and Guy Picciotto: Rites of Spring, One Last Wish, Happy Go Licky.Track listing1. Do they continue doing what they've always done and become an anachronism, play follow the leader, or strike off in a new direction, blazing trails for others to follow? On END HITS, it seems Fugazi has chosen the latter, continuing the transformation they began on 1995's RED MEDICINE, from DC hardcore's leading light to 21st century art-rock. This doesn't mean they are growing fatter, balder, 20 years older and British, they're just expanding their boundaries. The lyrics still bite and the guitars still sting, but they've thrown something else into the mix. The riffs are no longer just power chord blasts, but melodic lines that could carry the songs as instrumentals. And what's that in the bass? It couldn't be! It is (gasp)! Counterpoint! After 11 years and 7 albums, Fugazi are paying as much attention to the craft of songwriting as political indignation and DIY activism.Editorial reviews7 (out of 10) - ...Chumbawamba with the sledgehammer emotional subtlety of Henry Rollins....END HITS is a rather good record from a well-meaning bunch who are finally allowing a little colour and tenderness into their slate-grey terrorist cell. 1. Jess Horrible says I remember fugazi. Everyone at my high school had the t-shirt.

  2. Daviso says JH is funny- since i think fugazi never officially made Ts to sell, as they aligned more with making money from playing music and not merchandising themselves.. Where did emo go wrong? Got all their stuff on vinyl from my zinester days, they asked me how I wanted my Dischord review copies, and at the time nobody else was offering lp copies anymore. Thank god for emusic. Another great hardcore dischord band to check-out is Dag Nasty.

  3. mullytron says Ah, good old harDCore. Takes me back to the days of my misspent youth, drinking beer at Fort Reno and trying to be as cool as all all the REAL punkz. Whatever, most of that scene was a bunch of kids from Northwest trying to slum and act broke. Who remembers when all the punks started going Hare Krishna? THAT was funny. I remember one girl who used to sleep on the sidewalk and get in major brawls, but whose dad was Poindexter's lawyer during the Iran-Conrta hearings. Then she went Krishna, but kept losing her beads ... And then there was some actual music mixed in. Who remembers King Face? They rocked. And of course, Scream, Dave Grohl's old band. Fugazi was cool, but I'll take Rites of Spring anyday. "DRINK DEEP IT'S JUST A TASTE AND IT MIGHT NOT PASS THIS WAY AGAIN."
