A classic, raw blues standard, if a bit obscure. From what I understand, the lyrics were taken from Gatemouth Brown, but the melody was by George Adams, tenor sax and vocalist with the Mingus Quintet. There's some reference to a later change in the lyrics as well. I heard the most smokin' performance of this song, at a small college in Wisconsin, by Joey Miserable (Simon Chardiet) and the Worms, in the spring of 1986. Ha! There's my plug, but as far as I know, I have the only recording of them playing this song. Real heavy on the bass, the horns are sharp, and Simon's vocals can rip your guts out!
