Art Brut

Last night I made a special trip to the wonderful town of Austin for the We Are Scientists/Art Brut show. The Spinto Band opened. I had to get my hands on the Art Brut/WAS split record. Having previously seen WAS before I went mainly for Art Brut and they did not disappoint. In fact I might go as far as saying they were freaking amazing. I really had no idea what to expect from them, all I knew was that I was to be updated on the whole Emily Kane/Eddie Argos situation. Instead I was informed on some Jay Z/Eddie Argos scenario that supposedly happened. Quite funny but what the hell became of Emily Kane? I did notice a shiny platinum band on Eddie's ring finger. Hmmm, none of my business.... Among the highlights of the show were song introductions, new songs, the theatrics of Jasper and Eddie, and Eddie jumping off stage and running straight throughout the crowd. He ran straight past me, he's shorter than I expected. Basically what I'm failing to say is that it was a great show, one of the most entertaining I've ever been to. If only the acoustics were a bit better. For the encore all three bands came out and to sing a WAS song. They had a hard time singing it the Art Brut way with the audience already singing their own little hearts out.
