Am I Getting Old? State of the Playlist, August 8 2006

Artist:Shiina Ringo

Album:Muzai Moratorium
So I've noticed that I'm listening to a lot of stuff I listened to, oh, about ten years ago. Ten years ago I had "Pisces Iscariot" on all the damn time! When I wasn't listening to that I had on Dinosaur Jr's "Without a Sound".Now I'm wondering, is it me? Am I getting old? Or is it just because I listened to both these albums at the same time in my life? Because now that these two have made it back into the everyday playlist, I'm noticing that these albums sound a LOT alike. Funny thing is, while I have plenty of other Pumpkins, this is the only Dinosaur Jr CD I own. Go figure.Shiina Ringo's shown up in my playlist again, too. And I mean, a LOT of Shiina. But there's a catch here, too. A couple years ago when I first discovered here, it was all about her then latest album, Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana. This time, while I still love me some Souretsu and Okonomide, it's all about Muzai Moratorium. I've even made a new CD for the car that is ALL Shiina, and I find the songs that end up on repeat are Akane Sasu Kiro Terasaredo and Marunochi Sadistic. What's up with that?Another constant in the playlist is Peeping Tom. Almost this entire elbum is in the everyday playlist (cleverly titled *Music, so it's the first in the Playlist menu). It never gets old. OK, I admit, I'm starting to get tired of it. Sort of. I can't help but wonder if it's the sudden re-infatuation with Shiina, though.
