Just when I thought that Against Me! had made their "swan song" with _Searching for a Former Clarity_ they put out an album that defies sub-genres in rock (Tom Gabel is sick of you calling him "punk") and makes bold statements about...well...everything! I think more than anything they pose the serious question of "Are you restless like me" in the track "Up the Cuts." However, they serve up songs about what life could have been like on "Ocean," what can be easily destroyed and misunderstood on "Thrash Unreal," signs of urgency, caution and individualism on "Stop!" and the classic Against Me! attitude of "what the fuck is going on?!?!" on "White People for Peace." I also would be a no-good son of a bitch if I didn't mention how awesome the duet between Tom Gabel and Tegan Quin (of Tegan and Sara) is on "Bourne on the FM Waves of the Heart" which is undoubtedly my favorite track on the record. Seriously check this record out if you haven't already. So far, is my #1 record of the year! Hands down! Here's a cool live version of "Up the Cuts!" Enjoy!
