Happy Birthday Bob!

How do you pick a Bob Dylan song when every song is special? Here's just one of my favorites, from "Desire"....(and a few more pictures from the San Carlos trip.)This is Craig's sculpture "Apache" which is installed at the entrance to the Apache Gold Casino in Globe, Arizona.Coming home thru the eastern Sierras.

    fairportfan says It's *Fairport Convention*, of course - Si tu partir dois. One night (while *Sandy Denny* was still in the band) they got to messing around, and, with audience participation, translated If You Gotta Go, Go Now into "French". (I assume you noticed that the chorus ends in English...) This is a live performance (i'm not sure from when, but i'm pretty sure that's not Sandy); the original studio version (their only UK chart single) featured a percussion break on a stack of chairs in the studio (and a beer bottle on top of them); at the end of the break the stack falls over. (At about the point when you hear the slide whistle in this one.) Dylan's original:

    The Dylan original was a Europe-only single in 1965; it didn't have an official US or UK release until 1991, on *The Bootleg Series Volumes 1–3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961–1991*.
