Kimono My House!

Posted almost 4 years ago
I thought this was a trippy track by Eartha Kitt from the " Eartha Kitt In Person At The Plaza"LP, circa 1965. "C'mon a my House" was written in 1939 by Ross Bagdasarian (who would later create Alvin and the Chipmunks under the stage name, David Seville) and his cousin, famous author, William Saroyan. It didn't become a hit until 1951 when it was recorded by Rosemary Clooney. It sounds like (mangled) Japanese she's scatting on this, but I'm not sure. Domo Arigato.

  3. Spike says She really swings on this one, and her humor and personality come through without detracting. I also like the arrangement and band. Here's her singing the Ellington number "Solitude" from 1950, before she found her "voice." Jack Dieval on piano and Doc Cheatham on piano. ~9tqRZMU3uWs.mp3~
