Phish Being Honored With Lifetime Achievement Jammy

Posted almost 4 years ago
Improvisational jamband Phish have been making headlines lately. Just yesterday, I posted a story about the band's drummer Jon Fishman "playing a couple of shows with Yonder Mountain String Band.":http://mog.com/Mackenzie_P/blog_post/147810Today news hits that the band, who broke up in 2004, will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2008 Jammy Awards. Don't count on a reunion though. There's no word on weather any of the band members - Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon and Page McConnell - will show up. Past Jammys for Life Achievement have gone to B.B. King, The Meters, The Grateful Dead, Buddy Guy, Steve Winwood and Frank Zappa. The awards show is set to take place at the Theater at Madison Square Garden on May 7th, 2008. Nominees, performers and presenters will be announced in the near future.

  1. sonical says Thanks for the phish posts. Glad they are getting this award too. I have been watching videos from some killer shows. When these guys were on they were the best band on the planet.
