Black Francis Releasing New Mini-LP, Check Out New "I Sent Away" Video

The ever prolific Black Francis (a.k.a. Frank Black of the Pixies) is releasing his latest recording session - written, recorded and mixed in six days. The album, a follow-up to Bluefinger is called Svn Fngrs, (missing some E's there) and is due on March 4th, 2008 via Cooking Vinyl. The seven songs on the mini-LP clock in at about 20 minutes and will be available, according to Francis/Black, at "whatever price your Google research turns up.""If you want it for free," he adds, "you can usually find some tracks for free download on my MySpace page or on my own blackfrancis.net."The idea for the mini-album came after management asked Francis for an electronic B-side for his last album Bluefinger. Alas, the reoccurring "finger" title theme. However the other topics of conversation on the album also include "NASTY sex, NASTIER death, and beautifully strange birth." Black Francis is responsible for the guitar, vocals and harmonica on the album while the album's producer Jason Carter helps with drum duties, and Violet Clark contributes bass.
