Despite a sales week dominated by Grammy performances, Jack Johnson's Sleep Through The Static remains at Number One after selling 180,000 copies its second week out. Her album Back to Black shot up 22 spots to land at Number Two after selling 115,000 copies. Alicia Keys, who also performed at the Grammys, remains at Number Three for another week with her latest As I Am (109,000 copies). The 2008 Grammy Nominees compilation sold 72,000 (40% more than last week) to move up one spot to Number Four, proving that the Grammy do indeed have an impact on chart performance. The Foo Fighters' had their album Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace climb from 65 to 22 after selling 33,000 copies following their Grammy performance. Kanye West's Graduation also notched up from 64 to 40 after selling 23,000 album.But the Grammys didn't just help Winehouse, the Foos and west leap, they also shot Grammy Album of the Year winner Herbie Hancock's River: The Joni Letters 154 spots north. Hankcock's Joni Mitchell covers album was 159 on the Top 200, just last week. This week after selling 54,000 copies it lands at Number Five.At Number Six is the soundtrack to the comedy Juno which sold 53,000 copies. Taylor Swift, who lost the Best New Artist Grammy to Winehouse still moved up three spaces to Number Seven after selling 52,000 copies. Sheryl Crow's Detours took a fall this week descending from 2-8, but also selling 52,000 copies. Sheryl Crow - Shine Over BabylonMary J. Blige's Growing Pains moved down one spot to Number Nine this week after only selling 49,000 albums. The soundtrack to the dance-themed movie Step Up 2 rounds out the Top Ten this week after selling 45,000 copies.
