Track:Signed Sealed Delivered I'm Yours
How important is a campaign song? Well, one should choose accurately. After Illinois Senator and Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama lost unexpectedly to fellow candidate and New York Senator Hillary Clinton in the New Hampshire primary, Obama's camp was ridiculed for playing Stevie Wonder's 'Signed Sealed Delivered, I'm Yours" after the defeat. The classic tune is know for the lyrics "Here I am baby/Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm yours/(You got my future in your hands)."Papers were quick to use the track against Obama after his unexpected defeat, with one headline example snickering "Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours ... not quite." Ouch. Now, according to an NME report Obama is flipping the track and going for a broader jingle - Bill Withers' "Lovely Day." Clinton, who had supporters vote online for a campaign song has settled for KT Tunstall's "Suddenly I See" and Tom Petty's "American Girl." But before Obama goes blaming Stevie Wonder for his defeat in New Hampshire, perhaps us Moggers can conjure some other ideas for campaign tracks.Happier times...
