Canadian rocker Bif Naked has just announced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The 36 year-old and once bisexual singer/poet, whose real name is Beth Torbert, made the announcement on George Stroumboulopoulos's radio program "The Strombo Show" this past Sunday.After noticing a lump two weeks ago during a self-exam, Bif told the radio show, "I went into my doctor for a checkup and he immediately sent me for tests, including a mammogram, which indicated a high possibility of cancer. From there things have gone at what seems like light speed: biopsy, blood tests, cancer clinic. It's been two weeks from being completely healthy to cancer patient with surgery, radiation and chemotherapy scheduled.""I am in the fight of my life and I'm lucky to have the support of my husband, Ian, and many friends and family members." She was married three months ago to Vancouver sports columnist Ian Walker.Bif will undergo surgery this week in British Columbia where she currently resides and has been known to live a yoga-heavy and healthy vegan lifestyle."Even those in great health can be subject to cancer as a diagnosis," she commented.Bif Naked's last album was 2005's Superbeautifulmonster.
