Rufus Wainwright Releasing Judy Garland Concert As CD/DVD

Rufus Wainwright will release both a separate CD and DVD of his Judy Garland Carnegie Hall performance, where he imitated the late actress/singer at the renown venue with a pair of shows back in June of 2006. Wainwright performed Garland's entire 1961 concert and was often backed by a 39-piece orchestra.The first night of the two-night stint at NYC's Carnegie Hall will now be released as the CD Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall on December 4th. The same performance at the London Palladium (February 25, 2007) makes up the DVD Rufus! Rufus! Rufus! Does Judy! Judy! Judy! Live at the London Palladium (out also on December 4th). In addition to the New York City and London shows, Wainwright also performed Garland's Carnagie Hall concert at the Olympia in Paris, and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.Wainwright's take on Garland classics like "Over The Rainbow" and "Puttin' On The Ritz" make up the two 27-track offerings. A complete tracklist has not been given, but it will most likely share similarities to Garland's 1961 concert setlist (see below).In the meantime, Wainwright is touring Europe and heads back to North America in December where he'll play a handful of east coast shows around the holidays.
