40 Years Since Otis Redding's Death Honored By New Documentary

Otis Redding's legacy will be honored in the film documentary Dreams To Remember: The Legacy Of Otis Redding. The film will receive its World Theatrical Premiere at Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, on Monday, October 8 at 8:00 p.m.
The film coincides with the 40th anniversary of the soul singer's death on December 10, 1967, and with the 50th anniversary of Stax Records, the reactivated label the Dreams To Remember: The Legacy Of Otis Redding DVD was released on last week.The DVD traces Reddings first amateur talent contests and concludes with final days leading up to the tragic plane crash on December 10, 1967. Notable interview include Steve Cropper, who co-wrote with Otis and played guitar on virtually every record he made at Stax; Wayne Jackson, the trumpet player for the Mar-Keys/Memphis Horns who also played on most of Otis’ recordings, and Jim Stewart, the founder of Stax Records, who gave his first interview in 13 years for this film. Footage from Otis’ wife Zelma and daughter Karla also recollects Redding's life as a family man.
