Aerosmith axeman Joe Perry has undergone successful knee replacement surgery. The surgery was performed last Tuesday, March 18th after being put off for two years so Perry could complete live commitments.
Perry was put into ICU but doctors have eased his pain and transformed him to a private room. Perry will stay there through the end of the week then head home where he will recover until the end of the year.
Funny, but I don't remember him having an affinity for playing guitar while sliding on his knees.

San Francisco...I am starting to get jealous. The line-up for this summer's inaugural Outside Lands Festival is shaping up to be one of the hottest. Joining headliners Radiohead, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Jack Johnson will be Beck, Wilco (whose tune "Walken" is currently spinning on my iTunes) and Widespread Panic. The three-day festival will take place at San Francisco's historic Golden Gate Park August 22nd to 24th, 2008.
Rodrigo y Gabriela, Cold War Kids, Manu Chao, Café Tacvba, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, Steel Pulse, Nellie McKay will also join a bill of local acts that includes Primus, Two Gallants, The Coup, The Mother Hips, Goapele, ALO , Matt Nathanson and Sean Hayes.
Tickets will go on sale Sunday, March 30, 2008, at 10am PST through www.SFOutsidelands.com.

Britney is back. The recovering pop-star made a positive return to television last night on an episode of the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. She does a great job of playing a ditzy doctor's receptionist. The show, which also stars Doogie Howser, M.D. and the "at band camp" girl, is actually pretty funny.

What a line-up! Too bad The Billy Boys aren't playing... (my band). Yes, this is one of those times when I figure the high cost of living in the Bay Area is off-set by the rich experience. Now it's all up to the Weather Gods.

Going to be amazing. Even the lesser known artists are great. It's about time that city stepped up like this. It's a great city for music and this should be an amazing time.
And there's your opportunity to see Grace And The Nocturnals sonical! They don't live up to my hype ... I'll buy your ticket back! [lying voids offer 8*]
