Nickelback Frontman Chad Kroeger Moves To Shut Down Facebook Pickle

On February 3rd 2010, a Facebook fan page titled "Can this pickle get more fans than Nickleback?" launched to little fanfare.
A little over two weeks later, the page has 1.4 million fans and surpassed Nickelback in terms of popularity, a victory for fans of great music everywhere. However, it's not all ice cream and confetti for some folks...
Chad Kroeger, the lead singer of Nickelback isn't taking too kindly to the group and is looking to have it shut down.
Even Kanye West had a better sense of humor when he received his public shaming courtesy of the Gay Fish SouthPark episode.

Hmmm-maybe. Consider that Krueger (or however you spell his name) ALREADY has a bad rep. The singer from Siliva went PUBLIC about how he screwed him over the song for the Spiderman movie...do I think they will get more GOOD PR from this? No. You have to come off as a victim to do that. Now, is it legit? Not sure...is it set up by Nickelback? Doubt it. Think about it-the basic priciple, as laid out by the authors of "Made to Stick" isn't really followed. The ONLY point of the page was to say I HATE NICKELBACK, so how can they portray themselves as hapless band that's just really trying and go victimized by a 14 year old girl? Particularly when you already have a bad rep.
Now did Krueger actually send that Email? Don't know. We'll see...even if not, I give her props for BRILLIANT PR...
