Kid Rock: "smart cars and health insurance are a nightmare"

Fox News recently brought Kid Rock onto the airwaves to have a chat with Megyn Kelly about whats going on the the minds of average Americans in relation politics. The general line of thinking was that although Rock is a celebrity, he still lives in Detroit and represents the everyman mentality. Kid Rock says he has nightmares about the way things are going and offered the following tidbits on the horror:
"I have nightmares that I'm going to wake up and everyone's driving a Prius and living in a condo and we're all getting health insurance,"... wowser.
"It reminds me of Europe -- everyone driving a smart car and living in a condo and that's not the American dream."
Going by Kid Rock's logic, contributing to the destruction of our environment while ensuring over 30 million citizens have no health care is as American as apple pie. FUCK YEAH!
I can sympathize with Kid Rock in the sense that he's born and raised in Detroit, and had family and friends who worked for the big auto companies that are dying off.... so naturally he's protective of something that provided for his family.
However.... he Rock can't be this shortsighted can he?

Perhaps what he meant to say is.. Socialism is unamerican, and smart cars has killed my home town.

Oh, well his lack of critical insight does not surprise me I guess. He is apparently living the American dream, because everybody should be a rockstar. Get rich or die tryin'.
You know, if GM had thought of jumping on this "smart car" thing many years ago, maybe Kid Rock wouldn't see as many family members losing their jobs, and he'd have to sing a different tune. Maybe one with an African touch, perhaps.
I don't think he went exactly where she wanted him to go..He didn't really say anything about the size of goverment...oh wait, I'm not supposed to be talking politics.Hey everybody have you read the news? Toyotas are DANGEROUS! (And that includes the late model Prius too!) As foreign cars become more mainstream, the more interesting problems pop up. GM and Ford may yet have the last laugh...before Hyundai or People's Heavy Equipment Factory #26 swallows them whole.
