Hip-hop is built on competition. Nowadays, that competitive spirit is manifested in the form of diss tracks, youtube tirades, and radio-show arguments. Beef, drama, and miscellaneous conflicts are more plentiful in rap music today than you could possibly imagine. Every week we'll fill you in on the latest in bruised egos and hurt feelings. As Jay-Z once so eloquently put it... "Sensitive thugs, they all need hugs."

The summer beef season has officially kicked off with a bang ladies & gents. After the relatively quiet month of May, Drake, Lil Kim, 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, and Diddy have all drummed up some drama. Before we hop into the frosty swimming pool of negativity below, let's all not lose sight of the fact that some amazing hip-hop music is on the brink of release. Drake, Eminem, Lil Jon, Big Boi, and Rick Ross all have albums on the horizon. Tis the season for excitement.

Kat Stacks Strikes Back At Fabolous & Bow Wow

Last week, the hip-hop nation reacted to disturbing footage of Kat Stacks being assaulted by unknown men on behalf of Lil Bow Wow & Fabolous. While Bow Wow & Fab have distanced themselves from what took place, Kat Stacks has released a video of her own connecting her attackers to the rappers.

A defiant Stacks delivers her usual brand of profanity-laced rambling while telling every rapper in the world "you can't shut me up".

My advice? Just stop having sex with her, guys.... she'll go away, I promise.

But wait, reality tv star Natalie Nunn from Bad Girls Club released a video blasting Kat Stacks for being a horrible mother. She finds it offensive that Stacks is openly sleeping with dozens of men and publicly speaking about it despite the fact that she has a child. Natalie goes on to say that Kat Stacks "is the reason Angelina Jolie & other celebs have to adopt black babies".

Bitter, Unsigned Rapper Sucker Punches Lil B During Interview

Lil B angered many fans last week when he released a music video diss to Kat Stacks called "Violate That Bitch". Needless to say, those same fans have been less than sympathetic after viewing this brand-new showing an unsigned rapper sucker punching Lil B during an interview.

Apparently, these guys were angry that Lil B wouldn't introduce them to Soulja Boy so they could secure a possible record contract. They pretended they were friends with Lil B and hung out with him on the set of his new music video, and just when things were about to wrap up they decided to do something that would get their names out there. You can check out a video of the unprovoked attack below.

Lil B released a YouTube video early Tuesday morning addressing what happened and calls for black men to get their act together and help one another. He ends the video with the statement "save the black race, because this shit is going downhill". While I certainly agree that what happened to Lil B was pathetic, it's funny hearing him talk about positivity when he made a song called "Violate That Bitch" last week. A little hypocritical maybe?

Update: 6/9/2010 - The unsigned rapper who sucker punched Lil B just put out this video apologizing for his actions and saying that incident doesn't reflect who he is as a person. He goes on to say he hopes he can meet up with Lil B and apologize in person.

Lil Kim Disses Nicki Minaj; Drake Disses Lil Kim In Nicki's Defense

You know it wouldn't really be right if we had a beef report without Nicki Minaj drama right? Lil Kim & Ray K kicked off a verbal attack on Minaj last week because Nicki failed to "pay homage" and "show respect" to Lil Kim as an influence.

That's right, Nicki Minaj is required by hip-hop law to give shoutouts to Lil Kim in every single interview or Kim is going to be PISSED.

As usual, Nicki Minaj didn't respond to Lil Kim and chose to ignore her, but Drake couldn't bite his tongue. During an interview with MTV he said Nicki loves Lil Kim and that Kim is desperate for attention, implying her time in hip-hop has passed.

" I would never expect Jay-Z or Kanye to get onstage and be like, 'Pay homage to me. You need to respect me.' They know they command my respect with their music and talent. I feel that's signs you're just losing it."

50 Cent Disses Diddy

During a recent interview, 50 Cent was asked about the whole Lil Kim vs. Nicki Minaj situation and he didn't seem interested in commenting on it. What he did seem interested in talking about is how annoyed he is that Diddy is attaching himself to Nicki Minaj in a desperate move to be associated with something relevant. He also went on to express disappointment that Diddy compared Rick Ross to Biggie Smalls. Oh yeah, and he also believes that Diddy's been releasing terrible music in the last few months.

50 Cent is a heavy adopter of the "a friend of my enemy is my enemy" theory, which pretty much explains everything. 50 is still a little bitter about his feud with Rick Ross last year and isn't ready to bury the hatchet yet.

Slim Thug vs. Every Black Woman In America

Slim Thug recently penned a blog post exclusively for Vibe.com and instantly made an enemy of every black woman (and a few white women) in America. The point of his post was call out black females for not supporting their men in addition to being combative and materialistic. Enjoy a few select quotes from the latest relationship expert, Mr. Thug:

"Black women have to bow down and let it be known that they gotta start working hard; they gotta start cooking and being down for they man more. They can't just be running around with their head up in the air and passing all of us.

I have a brother that dates a White woman and he always be fucking with me about it saying, "Y'all gotta go through all that shit [but] my White woman is fine. She don't give me no problems, she do whatever I say and y'all gotta do all that arguing and fighting and worry about all this other shit."

My girl is Black and White. I guess the half White in her is where she still cooks and do all the shit that I say, so we make it. She just takes care of me and I like that. She don't be begging and I don't gotta buy her all this crazy ass shit."
