Finally! I've been waiting for a woman to stumble in to a mic and start growling. Not in an angry, loud, full of herself way that gets sooo cliche..but in a soulfull, sexy, and unapologetic way that Amy Winehouse brings to her album Back to Black.At the end of her video for her album titled song, Amy tosses a rose on to a grave that represents her heart. I would like to send her about a thousand roses to thank her for this album. For any stay at home mom, roller derby girl, or street smart woman who is ready to vomit from an overdose of highly processed women's music, well, I prescribe Amy. Her voice reminiscent of Nina Simone, the album also tips it's hat to old school motown. In fact I encourage all to compare her with Diana Ross and the Supremes- the similarities are surprising.
