It’s always terribly sad to hear of an animal reaching extinction. It would appear that the Yangtze river dolphin, or baiji, has become the first large vertebrate to become extinct in over 50 years. The freshwater mammal, native of China, was the only remaining member of the Lipotidae, an ancient mammal family that is understood to have separated from other marine mammals, including whales, dolphins and porpoises, about 40-20 million years ago."http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2007/aug/08/endangeredspecies.conservation":http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2007/aug/08/endangeredspecies.conservationSometimes I think about Saturday's childAnd all about the times when we were running wildI've been out searching for the dolphins in the seaAh, but sometimes I wonder, do you ever think of meThis old world will never change the way it's beenAnd all the ways of war won't change it back againI've been out searchin for the dolphin in the seaAh, but sometimes I wonder, do you ever think of meThis old world will never change
