Big Hair

Posted 11 months ago

Here we go again... Read it and weep, y'all. The book is called "Big Hair" by James Innes-Smith. Ignore the ripped-off price tag on the front. I wasn't about to pay full price for this shit. And being that I'm a celebri-tainer that values his privacy, I wasn't about to leave it on either.

I've included some excerpts, so you can see the true value of this fine publication. As I laughed my ass off reading thru it, I realized this book represents some of the few perks of not having any Asian-American inclusion in pop culture media in the 80's. Unless, that is, your talking about baby girl with the hair that looks like a shitake mushroom.

Or unless, that is, your talking about my dude with the Mega-Mullet that looks like Freestyle legend "Stevie B's" lone Asian keyboardist that backed him up on Showtime At The Apollo 20 yrs ago.

Or unless, that is, your talking about my dude with the glasses that vaguely resembles a white Mike Relm.

Oh sh*t, those are outstanding, THANK YOU.  Those species are rarely seen in the wild anymore, since their natural habitat is rapidly being lost to progress...

Fred Eaglesmith wrote a hilarious song called "Big Hair".

She said it was her religion
When I asked her what that was
The higher the hair the closer to god
Well I guess there'll always be somethings
    We ain't gotta share
    My baby's got big hair

The other day she's running up on Miller Ridge
    She didn't check the sign
She got stuck beneath the bridge
It took the cops an hour to get her out of there
    My baby's got big hair

When I take her picture just to get her in
    I turn the camera sideways
    Use a wide angle lens
    It makes people laugh
    But she don't care
    My baby's got big hair
