WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Lyrical Revolution's Lyrics of the Week 10/22 - I Hope You Dance

Posted over 3 years ago
I love this song because it is so inspirational. It reminds you to live life to the fullest in a non-preachy way, and Ms. Womack can Sing. The song even manages to put you in an optimistic, pleasant, resolute mood.So without furthur ado, here's Lee Ann Womack with "I Hope You Dance"I hope you never lose your sense of wonder You get your fill to eat But always keep that hunger May you never take one single breath for granted God forbid love ever leave you empty handed I hope you still feel small When you stand by the ocean Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance I hope you dance I hope you dance I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance Never settle for the path of least resistance Living might mean taking chances But they're worth taking Lovin' might be a mistake But it's worth making Don't let some hell bent heart Leave you bitter When you come close to selling out Reconsider Give the heavens above More than just a passing glance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance I hope you dance (Time is a real and constant motion always) I hope you dance (Rolling us along) I hope you dance (Tell me who) I hope you dance (Wants to look back on their youth and wonder) (Where those years have gone) I hope you still feel small When you stand by the ocean Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance Dance I hope you dance I hope you dance (Time is a real and constant motion always) I hope you dance (Rolling us along) I hope you dance (Tell me who) (Wants to look back on their youth and wonder) I hope you dance (Where those years have gone) (Tell me who) I hope you dance (Wants to look back on their youth and wonder) (Where those years have gone)

  1. SWozniak says It's way overplayed over here for just that reason, to the point of my disgust of the song.

  2. lemontwist says The principal at my high school read those lyrics at my graduation ceremony back in the day. Cool words, but I don't like the song too much.

  3. LyricalRevolution says My apologies, SWozniak. I hate it when a good song gets KILLED by the radio. There's a radio station over here that plays the same exact songs every hour in the SAME order. It's where good songs go to die.

  4. SWozniak says I think I've gone to too many church retreats where this was the meditation music. It's hardly something to meditate to, IMO.

  5. AforAnarchy says NO! I hope you stand against the wall forever... I never really liked this song. And then they overplayed it. Way back when I actually listened to the radio and watched tv. I don't mind the lyrics, they're inspirational and all, but they would be much better off without the music. what kills me is this song is 5 or 6 years old and they still manage to overplay it! how do they swing that?! just curious, which radio station is that? other radio stations try to hide it, i think that's awesome that they just admit it. yeah we play the same songs. in the same order. every hour. what a gimick...
