i'm on the phone with huey lewis

I really am. Right now, as I type this, I'm on the phone with *Huey Lewis*. *Huey Lewis and the News*. That guy. He's on the phone and I'm talking to him. Hah.If anyone is interested, I know what hotel he's staying at in June at the beach, because I totally just made his reservation.I also laughed really loudly when he told me who he was, but I think we've moved past that and we're getting along quite well.He has a cool accent. This is too funny.He's worried about spending too much money. That, too, amuses me. But he's very nice. I'm pretending to be looking something up while I type this. I keep wanting to ask him to play me a song. But I won't, because that would be both immature and wrong. But still funny.

    Augusts1 says Lol, that's so cool, even though it is Huey Lewis! He lives out here in the San Francisco Bay area, in fact I think he lives in Marin county which is the county south of where I live! It's not a wonder he's concerned about cost, it's expensive to live where he does--lots of wealthy people, but I'm sure he's pretty well off by now. I really liked their music back when they were popular. They still perform I think but mainly at fairs & such.

(heh, considering that i just got back from a "smoke break" at work, i guess it's understandable). augusts - yeah, they played here at the american music festival last summer or something; that's how he knew about the hotel. shhhh i have his credit card number. not that i'd use it but imagine if i'd like, really HATED his band or something. i could buy a car. haha, the fans are coming out. welcome to the world outside of the closet!

    Lyla says probably not so much on the photo, he's not coming until june (although i do know what hotel, what room, and what name it's under, so you never know....then). AND i have his phone number. maybe i should develop like, a huey lewis fetish, because i'll NEVER get this kinda shit with my real favorite bands, and it's almost just too irresistable. i mean, if i wanted to, i really COULD stalk him. i'm just saying, too bad i'm not some crazy big fan, because this would be awesome for one of them.

    Truth says give him a ring and tell him to meet you at "The Deuce". He'll be impressed. The Deuce is what locals call the 2 A.M. Club in Mill Valley, CA. Its a bar they used to hang out at and is also where the cover to Huey's "Sports" album was shot.

    Brett Schieber says Huey Lewis? THE Huey Lewis? The star of "Back to the Future", Huey Lewis? That old guy that sung the duet with the lady married to the Coldplay guy, Huey Lewis? Awesome! ;-) A few years back, I stayed at a really nice resort hotel in MT for a full Summer as I worked as a music director for a show in town. I made friends with a lot of those that worked at that hotel during that time. Someone there got a call from Dave Matthews making a reservation. News got around and everyone got excited.....however, when he came to town, it was just a random guy with the same name. O well......

    Lyla says it definitely was. the worst part was when i insulted him in the first 15 seconds of our conversation: me: can i have your first and last name, please? him: huey lewis me: like the 80s guy? MAN, how much did your parents hate YOU? him: um..no..i mean, i'm the actual guy. huey lewis. me: like the news? him: uh..yeah me: i am so, so, so sorry. i liked your music. i mean, when i was a kid. him: that's great. so, i was looking to come sometime in june... yeah. great. i felt so bad. he was really nice, though, and when he hung up he said "cheers". that was so cute.
