i haven't been around that much lately. anyhow, today i was driving and i decided that "oh comely" by *neutral milk hotel* is definitely one of the best songs that's ever been written. ever. _Goldaline, my dear. We will fold and freeze together.Far away from here, There is sun and spring and green forever. But now we move to feel,For ourselves inside some stranger's stomach.Place your body here, Let your skin begin to blend itself with mine._"mp3 here":http://www.resplendentmusic.com/mp3dw/ohcomely.mp3i could listen to it over and over.

  4. wegz says Oh I totally agree with you, Oh comely is maybe the most moving song I've ever heard. The first time I heard it I got a tear in my eye, you know the kind of tear you get when you just heard the most touching song of your life. It's a good kind of cry, but yea, the whole album is great. Jeff Magnum's lyrics are amazing, "in an aeroplane over the sea", and "Holland 1945"... I dont think anyone can compare to Neutral Milk hotel, its just really unique. Peace

  5. vev Eze says I listened to the CD a couple times through, not really paying attention to the last couple songs but the first time I actually listened to Oh Comely I stopped what I was doing and listened for the whole song; I was in total awe of it. It's one of those songs that evokes all of the right emotions, it puts you into some moment that you can't find in anything else. It's definitely one of my top NMH songs, possibly my favorite. I've cried to this song. It's so perfect. No one else's voice would agree with this song.

  6. Lyla says you know, the recording that's on the album was originally intended to be a practice run, jeff mangum was just supposed to be tuning his guitar, and instead he just went in there and banged that shit out in one go. you can tell if you listen to the song that it's completely seamless, recorded all in one take. some things were added in later, but the song at its core is just that one take, which makes it even more amazing (which you wouldn't think would even be possible). at the end if you turn it waaay up, you can hear someone (usually said to be scott spillane) yell, "HOLY SHIT!" which is exactly how i feel everytime i listen to it.
