I was painting my husband's office last night and decided to log on to Pandora on his computer. I was in the mood for one of my favorite band's Red House Painters. So I pulled up the Pandora station. I was enjoying the mellow station for about 6 songs. Then suddenly Thom Yorke's voice was coming out of the speakers, doing a live version of Fake Plastic Trees. I completely understand the ge...

I guess until recently, I haven't totally grasped the importance of really well written children's music. My daughter is crazy for music at 2 and a half... We started out with Jason Faulkner's "Bedtime with the Beatles" then got into the jangly upbeat "Catch That Train" album by Dan Zanes. One look at his blog post, or his album collection and you can see what has made him th

He continues to be one of the only songwriters I know who can keep me riveted for a whole album. He is also the only artist whose entire collection I own. I have to say that "Trucker's Atlas" is probably my favorite track of this album right now.. but the whole

This album for me reminds me of driving from Northern Utah to Northwestern Idaho. I know the "blue" mountains are in the east but the wildness and grandeur of Idaho's razor peaks and lush forests are complimented perfectly by this band and this album.
