My Favorite Song Ever

Posted over 3 years ago
*It's a bold statement... I know. But this is truly my favorite song of all time.* (Just saw the video for the first time, kinda wish I hadn't{!}) (It's a close call twix this and *'Crazy', by Seal*, BTW.) What about you? Can you truly pick your favorite song of all time?

  1. zmiami44 says Picking one favorite song is pretty tough. I would have to choose "Ten Years Gone" by Led Zeppelin right now. I think a better way to go about it is to choose a top 10 or top 20.

  2. sommer face says I can't pick just one as my favorite song of all time. I can't even pick out my favorite U2 or Radiohead song... Funny you posted Peter Schilling's version of "Major Tom." My old roommate was on Bearshare looking for a copy it, but when he asked me who sings "Major Tom" I said, "David Bowie." So he downloaded the song and told me it wasn't correct, but then found the Schilling version. I had to explain to him that Bowie recorded it first, and then it was remade. He had no clue about the Bowie version.

  3. kat3260 says I was racking my brain, and I can not think of a single song worthy of such an honor. That is really tough. I will say I'd choose "Crazy" over "Major Tom" though. I have a Seal thing.

  4. Hattie says I must know: is there a particular event that you associate with this song? I have lots of songs that give me that euphoric feeling, but I think if I could only take 1 song with me to a deserted island, it would be Atlantic Starr's "Always." Have no clue why I love this song so much, but ever since I was a little girl I've loved that song. I reccenly found a red, heart-shaped promotional single LP at a record store. Seal's "Crazy" is an excellent song. What did you think of the Alanis Morisette remake? Personally, I thought the video was more interesting than the song.

  5. Lord Helmet says I luv that question Hattie. Yes, I think that it reminds me of running 10 k races with my dad when I was a lil kid (he was an ultra-running freak -- 100 milers and shit; thus my brother and I grew up running with him by default. Races were his social outlet; made him happy which made me happy). I haven't heard that Alanis version of 'Crazy', to be honest with you... and I'm glad.

  6. ciaran says It changes a lot, but there are a few that are always there or thereabouts... Horace SIlver - Sayonara Blues Don Rendell/Ian Carr Quintet - Blue Mosque Marvin Gaye - What's Goin' On? Stevie Wonder - Golden Lady and about 5 early Oasis tracks that I just can't pick from....

  7. RGM says Mine is War Pigs, by Black Sabbath. I heard a million versions of that song, I love to play it on bass, guitar, sing it, don't own a drum kit, but play the drum parts on my legs or table, never gets old, never get sick of it...

  8. chucky says No. I don't think I could ever do that. It would be like a parent picking a favorite child. Plus, I'm too fickle.
