THE POSIES ...
I've had a serious crush on this band ... Since Frosting on the Beater ... I've loved them. Now, I'm the first to admit, I didn't keep up with them as much as I would have liked, but that doesn't change the fact that they always make me happy ... ALWAYS !!!!

Thanks to Nicole ... I got the pleasant reminder ... "lizziegreen, you LOVE The Posies", as she had just listened to them herself ... even with all the "new" music I downloaded to the pod, I had to toss Frosting on the Beater onto the playlist immediately.

& here's a song Jon Auer wrote specifically for me ... I mean, seriously, the song is called _Green Eyes_ When he sings it to me late at night, after we've gone to bed ;), he always adds Lizzie to the chorus ... but that's just for we two !!! (& little known fact about me, my eyes were _blue_ until I was about 9, then they up & changed to green on me) ... no complaints here, I am quite fond of my green eyes ;)
~if you are disbelieving of this little known fact, you just let me know & I will send you the pictures to prove it, just remember, we're talking late 70s early 80s so if you make any jokes about my hairdos or ensembles ... you will get a beatdown - Jon Auer may not look like much - but he'll get someone to kick your arse ;)
_Amazing Disgrace_ is a great album as well, but _Frosting on the Beater_ from beginning to end is perfectly delicious get it - Frosting on the Beater - delicious ... work with me here people ;)

Yummy yum !!! They just had the right equation, powerful guitars, nice rhythm section, beautiful vocal harmonies, & the lyrics a lot of fun !!! It's the perfect late spring, summer's almost here, driving in your car _with the rag top down so your hair can blow_ ... or at least the sun roof opened ;)

kristiana - Nope, not green, it's all about the eyes baby, it's all about the eyes. Def give them a listen ... they brought a new feel to the grunge era ... gentler, but still with some muscle.

I love The Posies, but like you Lizzie I only have one of their cds which is "Dear 23". Love their power pop sensibilities. I unfortunately get too distracted with the next big thing, so that's why I only have one of their cds.

It's a curse ... that next big thing. I put the pod on shuffle, & this has happened far too frequently than I like to admit - it's going in a future post - I find I have a song I didn't know I had ... then I investigate further, & I have the entire album ... That's how I found M83 on my pod, & Johnny Cash Live at Folsom Prison I found today ... now that's a great surprise (they both were) !!!!

You're right, at least one day has to be dedicated to the Posies (I went to write thank & somehow typed thong ... weird ... ) but I wanted to say thank goodness for summer & summer music !!!

tee hee ... pick Posies ... yup, me too !!! Then I eat some of the _heads_ off Lemons ... & every once in a while throw out some of the _really old_ Garbage, but nothing past the date of 1995 ... ;)
