I Will Not Toad These Time on Sprockets When We Dance

Posted over 2 years ago
Hey MOGites... Gotta get a song out into the MOGoSPHERE... gots some friends in need & having a rough go of it of late & I want them to know I am always here. This is a song that has been with me for so long - since high school when it came out, I still remember the day I purchased it & I remember the store - couldn't tell you what I was wearing - but I must have looked ravishingly gorgeous ;) h1. my memory people, deal with it :)So this goes out to my peeps & anyone on MOG needing a little extra love... h1. You got love in spades from me, lge. (just so you know - the montage isn't one I compiled - nor do I know the people in the montage... but they are obviously great friends so it is still just as fitting... when you watch/listen - make up your own photo montage of the people who matter most to you - that's what I did) !!!! So I must thank S Kennedy (whoever you are) - thank you !!!

  1. annieander says There is something so interesting going on with this montage. The fact we know no one...no relation to anyone that can tell us the story behind it...kinda voyeuristic....interesting to see the happy moments in human life...especially with this soundtrack. Whoa. It feels more trippy then if you had said "here is a montage of my family.". Do you know what I mean?

  2. Lizziegreeneyes says ABSOLUTELY !!!! But it's funny how many of those images are ones I have with my friends, if not actual photos... then in my memories. But I've always been the girl who loves to look at old photos of people I know - don't know doesn't matter really - just love happy memories I guess :) But - yeah - very trippy and voyeuristic - well said ;) Got another video - don't know a single person in this one as well ;)

  4. mister gary at work again says I lust that Toad the Wet Sprocket song ... Fear is one of the more formative albums of my entire life, actually. First mix CD I ever made for my wife (when we hadn't been dating so long yet) had "I Will Not Take These Things for Granted" on it. I think she was pretty permanently hooked on me after hearing that. :)

  5. iwanttofillyourmouthwithspiders says it does make me feel like i know those people now... remember that time that cassie and laura went on the roadtrip with mom? it was so funny because mom had just gotten a new camera phone and she couldnt figure out how to use it. mom can be such a techno-twit sometimes...

  6. Lizziegreeneyes says *gary:* I can see that being the case !!! The song holds such a special place in my heart. Loved this band since Pale, (Bread & Circus is the one I rarely listen to though it's not a bad one). & I've seen Glen with TallPO countless times... lurves this band. *DREW:* Where you been - I called cassie, but she said she hadn't seen you since you & trey went to the Renaissance Faire to rock your jesters hats, DOCs & swords ??? You had me worried, plus laura's mom has now moved on to the iPhone... she's a total mess & really needs your tech savvy ways !!!!

  7. iwanttofillyourmouthwithspiders says cassies a liar, i saw her like three days ago twirling her sticks in the park... this was supposed to be attached to my post before, but didnt seem to make the cut... (unless my computers just being wonky)

  8. Lizziegreeneyes says Seems like Kati & I have something in common.... a penchant for black & white photography is an obvious choice... howsomeever... ;) That cassie... think she likes to see me worry - I never know what's going to happen when you & trey get together !!!! Back to the video *Drew*, you beat the pants off mine & you will never hear me complain about a Counting Crows song... both very fitting so a totally welcome addition. Next time though, could you aim the bar a little lower - with the *say anything* / Jeffrey Gaines vids & now the colorblind b&w... pretty soon, I'm gonna have to ask you to do my posts for me (at least the video portions of them) ;) THANKS !!!

  9. iwanttofillyourmouthwithspiders says just say the word! (you are still my favorite MOG-ite due to your skills as a cunning linguist, so I would never even consider having a hand in your text. hmmm... that sounded much more euphemistic than i meant it to. oh well.)

  10. Lizziegreeneyes says You are such a blow hard & that's getting me hot under the collar... (totally meant euphemistically) ;)

  11. Augusts1 says Pretty song. Don't think I've heard it before but I grew up in bumfuck Portland, OR so the radio stations were shit when I was growing up. I'm still hearing songs that I don't recognize cause they didn't play them on the radio in OR. Lame ass assbackwards radio stations up there. They started to improve in '90 when they got their first alternative station but then I was only there 6 more years before I moved here to CA. I don't know why but the vid montage is creeping me out. Maybe cause it just seems too personal to be posted on your post. Oh well.

  13. Augusts1 says Well, I didn't know it was going to creep me out, ya dork! I scrolled down & read the other comments so as not to watch it yet listen to the song. But yet I kept going back. You know that 'can't help but look at something even though it's disturbing to you' thing we humans all innately have.

  14. Lizziegreeneyes says You're an ambulance junkie aren't you August... you should have been at my office this morning - a van got knocked on its side - literally & we all went to the windows to see what was going on - then people start filing out of the building to get closer & get a better look... I thought it was one of our vans - either mailroom/catering/shipping - but fortunately it wasn't & it seems the driver got out ok.

  15. Augusts1 says Not really. I hate the type of people that SLOW DOWN to gawk at car wrecks & fuck up the traffic behind them. Grrrrrr. But I guess we all have that 'wonderful' sick fascination. Btw, you haven't been on Multiply cause you haven't been to my T. heads post that was just for you. I sent you a message yesterday that you haven't replied to yet. That was a long ass upload too since there are alot of songs on that disc.

  24. atdt1991 says Awww, thank you! I don't at all mind you posting a link to my video - thanks for the kind words. The song has meant a lot to me for many years, and at least once a year I listen to it and take stock of my friends and family and what they continue to do for me. This year, I wanted them to know, so, well... I showed them. :) There've been tears and laughter aplenty, so I'm glad I did it. Those of you who find it creepy to get such a personal glimpse into someone's life ... well f*ck, isn't that what being an artist is all about? Only a fool posts to youtube and expects it to be private. Anyway, I just created a mog account to say that I'm glad you appreciated the video. Feel free to visit me over on livejournal.
