Is it me or is this a WTF / WWE kinda day ???

Posted over 4 years ago
I saw this douche-nuggets pic on MSN's homepage but didn't pay it any mind - wanted to get to MOG, you know how it is. But as I am logging on tonight, I it catches my eye - Road Rage - not such a surprise... then I take a closer look 'ROID RAGE. Some dick with a WWE Belt decides to off his wife & 7 year old son, *_THEN_* hang himself. Anabolic Steroids are believed to play a part. I'm sorry. I don't get it. I have sympathy for anyone who feels there is no other way - I don't AGREE with it - but I hurt for them. I lost a friend to suicide - I am as compassionate as they come. I have to & I DO believe that these broken souls are loved wherever they go once they leave us.This guy... not so much. *When you bring your family into your house of pain, you are a total prick.* I want to just start spewing explatives... but I have felt like crap since yesterday afternoon - this sure a shize didn't help me any. NOW, I am just angry. Really angry. There was absolutely no need to involve them. I couldn't even read the rest of the story... but here were the first two paragraphs I did get to..._"FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. - Pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife, suffocated his 7-year-old son and placed a Bible next to their bodies before hanging himself with a weight-machine pulley, authorities said Tuesday.__Investigators found anabolic steroids in the house and want to know whether the muscle man nicknamed “The Canadian Crippler” was unhinged by the bodybuilding drugs, which can cause paranoia, depression and explosive outbursts known as “roid rage.”_For the full story, you can click "*HERE*":http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19424899/?GT1=10056Sorry kiddies - I just had to get it off my chest.

  2. Lyrikhan says yeah i saw this....and apparently the WWE had a tribute show to him the day this happened....might wanna learn that facts and not celebrate a fuckhead

  3. Lizziegreeneyes says What gets me is my own blase attitude toward originally thinking it was Road Rage, but the guy's pic made him look like a linebacker & I wanted to see what prompted him to lose his cool behind the wheel - as if that is ok. *NONE* of this is *OK*. Incredibly sad. Heartbreakingly sad.

  4. Rawkkiddoh says the news is full of them recently. I am more disgusted by the boyfriend who pulled a scott peterson on his grilfriend. If that guy is guilty they should just throw him into general population at any prison. I am sure the lifers would love to have some fun with an ex-cop/ baby killer. As for the wrestler, gotta also look at who was telling him to take the roids. My guess is he felt pressure from the heads of wrestling and did so because of it. As responsible as he is for his actions, there are others who should be in the spotlight

  5. Anonymous says ugh! that is so sick - shedding some tears right now :( His own wife & young son, such a tragedy.... makes me so mad, I am really really upset when this stuff happens.... wha?! why?!! Although of course these are the ones that makes the headlines while other crimes that are similiar or the same are done and the person gets away with, innocent cries.... innocent cries .... I just wish that they didn't have a celebration over his death ... Any man that would harm his own wife and child are cowards and don't even deserve a proper departure ...

  6. Lizziegreeneyes says He was the one taking the drugs... we have free will. Honestly - I have to hold his wife a little responsible - a guy doesn't go from nice to murderer overnight when on steroids... she never should have had either her son or herself in close proximity. Plus it's likely she knew he was taking them & even *_I_* know the side-effects, trust me, never been around them either for myself or for my friends. But I also agree the dick who killed his girlfriend & unborn child ??? It's called a divorce/breakup, look into it. MURDER should never even be considered an option. General population is almost still too good for these dildos.

  7. Anonymous says Rawk : Very true. I 100% agree. Liz : I agee also, she probably knew the entire & should have left before things got as ugly as it did. The other day I was watching that story & unfortunantly, I wasn't too shocked when they found her body in that forest. You know when their missing that long they are dead. Such an aweful thing that the father of the unborn did, totally like the Peterson Case. And it's not like he murdrered one person, he murdered two, I think he should get the maximum sentence

  8. Rawkkiddoh says Not so, I was watching a special on the prison they are keeping Scott Peterson in and they will never release him into general pop. Too many guys who would consider killing him to be a trophy. Hey, arent you supposed to be in bed!

  13. Ashleyness says yeah, all of that is awful. My sister told me about the wrestler today and she was also really upset that they were having memorial type tv programs about him. I completely agree, when someone destroys their own family like that I don't want to hear anything good about them. sorry if that sounds insensitive, but there is no excuse for something like that.

  14. chucky says My husband told me about it early, he's a big WWE fan and "was it roid rage?" was the first question I asked. But, I don't even see how steroids would make you kill your 7 year old child - I have a feeling he was seriously fucked in the head.
    Permalink posted 06/26/2007
  15. cbertsch says Yeah, I feel pretty much the same way. It's hard being in the spotlight. But if I had that kind of money, I'd find something other to do than kill my family and myself.

  16. Lizziegreeneyes says Sure being bipolar could help with that...being really unstable. But Those kinds of Roids at the higher doses. He could have had a bad week - God forbid you've been depressed - but seriously - bipolar and othe drugs.... not pretty. Even if those drugs are at a specified - when you take too much of anything I think he was taking WAY TOO much. Didn't care who he hurt, he wanted to hurt them, but he did leave a BIBLE between the bodies of the son & mother REGARDLESS - KILL YOURSELF -leave your family out of it.

  18. Dale says I hadn't heard the final analysis, but let's say that I'm not surprised. I take comfort in knowing that the wife and son are going to someplace nice, while Chris Benoit will have to suffer for a looooong time for this. But my hope is that the WWE will finally stop covering their eyes and get steroids out of their business. Sports could also do the same, based on this; there have been some tentative steps, but more is needed.

  19. annieander says OK...I have to be a downer on this one. The other day I was listening to This American Life (don't know it? you have to check it out). They were doing a story about a 19 year old Iraqi boy that was a translator for the press corp just after the war started. After a particularly bad suicide bombing, he found footage of a mother holding her 7 year old son, just below the arm pits, into the air. His lower half, below the belly button was gone, and only his blood and entrails were pouring from him. And yet the pro-wrestler gets the news. I need to put it into perspective for myself sometimes. Our life in America just seems to keep going along, while others suffer. Sorry, that story greatly effected me. I guess I am not over it yet. My heart feels for the family left behind, the grandparents, but my heart feels for what what is happening in the world. I feel absolutely powerless to change anything.

  20. Tallpo says Being a Media teacher - I feel ashamed of the field itself. Just watch and read the news over the next few days and I'm sure that there will be specials on professional wrestling and steroids. And within two weeks - we'll get our fix of the subject and move on to the next "hot" topic". Don't get me wrong - what happened to that family was TERRIBLE. There are no excuses for taking a child’s life. As my wife puts it "I can see killing your spouse but not the children". If you're having personal problems ... keep them personal unless your asking for help. From what it looks like - that child idolized his father. A shame! Now if you'll excuse me - I have to talk to my wife about her quote I made reference to. : )

  21. Lizziegreeneyes says *PO:* +that's crap - sorry+. *It's not cool to kill ANYONE!!* The wife, the kids, the husband... whoever wants desperately to leave this world, that is his/her prerogative. Take the other parent & leave the kids, *who's there AS A PARENT to raise the children once BOTH PARENTS are DEAD ????* The logic in that doesn't jive my brother !!! Yeah - the media in this day & age is ridiculous. *annie:* I do hear where you're coming from - we need to be made aware of the NEWS - not the hype - all over the world. The news hasn't really been news in AGES. I fall party to it - I'd rather watch about Brad & Angelina than the news - but that is in large part due to the fact that the news is so swayed to one side or another & the whole - what bleeds leads - I've never gotten that philosophy. One other thing - it's widely known the shit he was injecting can cause the personal demons that were obviously messing with him... As I said earlier - his wife had to see him steadily declining - that she didn't take her son & get as far away from him as possible BOGGLES my mind as well. & all this for a sport that isn't even real... I just don't get it. He is an ass-solo-me-o. Don't care that your sick in the head - which in his case was brought on directly from the continued roid use. Selfish prick.

  22. contrabandwidth says For some reason Fayetteville seems to attract pro wrestlers. My friends went to school with The Iron Shieks daughters. Tragic for the family, I could care less about that assholes problems, leave your family out of it. I must question though why we feel outrage over these events (and the guy murdering his pregnant girlfriend, or Lacy Petersen, or who ever the latest kidnapped blonde child is) when we act oblivious to what is going on in the rest of the world and here. Did anyone happen to notice our Vice President claims he is some how exempt from the Executive Branch, and is accountable for nothing? Is the next step martial law or dictatorship? How many people were killed in Iraq today (I'm not talking about Service People, I'm talking civilians). I mean what the fuck people! Some fake ass sports hero kills himself and his family (again I only feel sorry for the family) What a distraction from the real issues.

  23. TroyPowers says When this originally hit the news, the police were just saying that they found the three bodies and it might be a murder/suicide, but they were still investigating. I think that's when the WWE aired the show dedicated to him. I think it took a couple days for the police to confirm that he had done it.

  26. moovyphreak says Definitely an unusual story, especially as more details are coming out of the woodwork. I am familiar Benoit, although I don't watch wrestling and haven't since childhood. This kind of news reminds me of the unexpected Phil Hartman & wife murder-suicide, though the children were left alive.

  27. annieander says Lizzy...Thanks for listening. The only thing that takes away from my music time, is my world news podcast. I am petitioning for Americans to care about the world around us, to seek out the good, the bad and the ugly in the world. If not, we are condemmed to be just that to the world, the good, the bad and certainly the ugly. I have travelled much in Europe, and have heard the constant complaint, about our apathy. I want change, I want change, I want change. Whoops, I am on my soapbox again. Look at me quickly jump off. I'm done. Now...how about Darfur.

  30. Lizziegreeneyes says *Annie:* You are always welcome to use the soapbox on my posts, it is here for me & anyone else... again - I do hear you - the world has so many evils... but there are so many of our citizens starving, living on the streets, beating each other, abusing children, selling kids on the black market - we also really need to concentrate on our problems as well - rather than walking past souls that are broken & doing our best to ignore. I also realize that this attitude can be said about us with other countries problems - but there are so many countries that also could be doing more. I love my country - for all it's flaws - of which there are WAY TOO MANY to mention, but everywhere I go & I have also travelled in Europe, for all the ugly Americans - there are Americans such as us - who want to emerse ourselves into the cultures we are experiencing in our travels. Who care about those around us. The devastation in this world is almost too much to take in without wanting to give up - it's sooooooooooooooooo much. I know this. & I know we are in places causing more of this devastation - with our current administration - we are backed into a corner that makes me so angry & so sad. That we went for another 4 years of the lies, betrayals & wars... Back to the issues at hand in this post: The wrestler & the husbands/boyfriends who kill their partners & their unborn children - all asses of the highest order & I hope they get their due. It shouldn't be the "IT" story - but it SHOULDN'T HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE> This issue hits home for me in ways to upsetting to mention - let's just say it really scares me for someone I love. The media has all but destroyed how we view the world - let alone our own country. The BLEEDS=LEADS, the latest Hilton meltdown, Shiloh spottings... when these shouldn't really be noted with ANY importance. Something needs to be done about all of these things & so much more... h1. Where do we start ??? *contradarlin:* no worries - I agree with your points as well... I didn't think you directed it at me... this news gets us thinking about all the greater evils in the world & we wonder why this is going to be the *IT* story... again - *What the FUCK !!!* There is so much more that we NEED TO SEE - but complacency seems to be the special of today... This kind of discussion always takes me back to the movie Pump Up the Volume... sure, 1990 film - not of great worth in some aspects (I will always LOVE this film) - because the driving force behind all of the action in the film - fighting against this complacency - standing up to the man & saying enough is enough...These are all themes we need to carry with us throughout our lives - we need to QUESTION AUTHORITY - not question a ticket we got for parking in a red zone. How is it - the US wanted to impeach a president who got his dick sucked - but allows the present administration to continue this MURDER on SUCH A MASSIVE SCALE with a WAR THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Quote from the film: _Mark Hunter: *They say I'm disturbed. Well, of course I'm disturbed. I mean, we're all disturbed. And if we're not, why not? +Doesn't this blend of blindness and blandness want to make you do something crazy+? *_ I think it's about time for all of us to *pirate our own _"radio frequency"_ & find some way to begin changing the state of the world today* ...
