This weekend I head to NYC to see 4 shows: Songbird (Jeff Daniels - yum), Radio Golf (August Wilson's final installment in is 10 plays, 1 for each decade - I miss him), Journey's End (one of the most talented stage actors I was fortunate to witness in "I am my Own Wife" off-broadway - Jefferson Mays) & Spring Awakening (DUNCAN SHEIK & SEX - perfect together). It's four days in one of my favorite cities - Prague/London/Phila - three way tie - then NYC/San Francisco second ... not the point. :)I am going to be away from MOG for the first time since I found it 2 plus months ago. h1. four days away from y'all & MOGlandWhat's a girl to do - I can already feel the shakes coming on ... pretty soon I'll start sweating uncontrollably & begging anyone I can find to let me have just one more "hit" of MOG - I can see me now - heading into every coffeehouse in search of laptop owners, sneaking into the web cafes just to go in the back & get my MOG on.HOW do I do this people ??? Is it feasable, or should I just send someone else in my place so I can sit in my favorite chair (or at work) & MOG to my heart's delight ... no withdrawl symptoms in sight ????I leave Friday on the BRIGHT, so any & all advice you could give an addict of MOG, total music/MOG junkie, would be most helpful. =-)Don't leave me out here to find dark alleyways in shady sections of NYC just to get my MOG on ... HELP !!!!Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE Conan or whoever books the artists !!!I am trying so hard not to be cowardly about all of this - but I scared shitless doesn't even begin to cut it !!! ;)I will post on Peeping Tom once I get back ... but the album just fit so well into the _*HELP ME I'm a music junkie VIBE !!!!!*_

    Mike the Knife says I simply travel with my laptop, Lizzie. I always have it by my side, like a dear companion/day-timer/jester. Hard to imagine life without it. And that's borderline crazy. Still, I like de island Manhattan! (I know I do.) My other home and all. Have a ball!

    goodmusiconly says haha, lizzie, I am familiar ... sounds like me back in December when I took my first leave of mog. It was a timorous weekend, sans laptop, but you can pacify your need for mog by dosing up on live music and loading your iPod with new stuff you've found here. Just don't be surprised if you find yourself talking incessantly about mog posts you've read, conversations you've had here, funny things that so-and-so said, and what not. You'll be back in the saddle soon enough. Have a great trip!

    Dale says Sorry, I have no advice for you. I went away for a week around Thanksgiving, but was able to get my fix two or three times a day. I'm really scurred for next month, when I won't be within 5 miles of a computer for five whole days, with limited access to my MP3 player. One my one-year MOGiversary, no less. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, but just think of all the wonderful shows you'll be seeing.

Just make sure that you catalog everything you hear and see to share with us when you're back. I'd also like to say that when I looked at that first video I thought "biz markie and mike patton started a band together?" heh.

I'ma be glued to the comp chair +attempting the impossible+: to catch up on all my MOGreading :) Know I'll have all sorts of good stories 'bout Spring Awakening & will surely tell you if I have another run-in with some Scientologists... Not to step on anyone's toes if you're a believer... but when they kept shoving a pamphlet in my face that I told them repeatedly I didn't want...my Irish temper _may or may not have flared up, & I may or may not have told them_ that what they had involved themselves in was a *+CULT+*, no more no less ... they are all a bunch of lemmings being brainwashed by a guy who liked to write science fiction. (not that I'm opinionated - y'all know that already right - that I'm _*NOT*_ opinionated). *;P* Shaaaaa, as if ... (said in my best "Wayne's World" Wayne voice).

    Lizziegreeneyes says *Ash:* - our comments were two ships passing in the night ;) *_Schooooo, schooo got what I schneeed ... so roll it up & smoke it again_* ... that would be quite the interesting pairing to say the *LEAST ;P* I've already got it planned to jot down any ideas for posts, now I just need to find a little pad of paper to go in my little purdy deep happy tulip pink handbag (it's called persimmon - but how many of you would know what persimmon looks like colorwise - that's what I thought) ... my mind ain't so good these days ... old age 'n all & am going to do my best to get in a little live music - Friday & Sunday night are the two best nights for that ... know I could talk the Mum into grabbing a beer or two & sitting in one of the countless jazz bars in the Village ... she's cool like that (ooh Diggable Planets may be in my not too distant future) :) **Hey Mike**: you got any hole in the wall recommendations for two lovely ladies to visit & enjoy the tunes & libations (I've always wanted to use the word libation, I've already managed to use the world imbibe - that one is fun as well) !!!     Lizziegreeneyes says Kev, a friend in college went to rehab for a heroin addiction - so hopefully I didn't upset you or anyone else with my attempts at humor above ... he stayed off the horse after that, but still went with some of the more acceptible forms of droooogs - so did the rehab work - you tell me ? That being said - I probably will get the shakes - in the sense that I'll think of something or have the perfect turn of phrase - as I like my phrases turned just right & nowhere to vent all the useless information ... I know I'll be fine - I'ma just already missing this place & I don't leave til Friday on the bright ... Music & MOG are my two addictions - well that & the Bubbas - Dooey, Twooey & Lil Miss Thang (nephews & niece) & they aren't coming with me ... Ash, make it my outward facing mog - the bag that is ... shoes - I'll stick with my Docs thank you vrrrrry much ;) Dale you'll be with me - even though you're here :)

I got my first 1/2 way, lopsided farmer tan thanks to the drive home where I sat in traffic a touch longer than usual... couldn't step away from the MOG to go home @ 5 - was on MOG til 5:30 - see why it's my crack... It sure do look purdy though - time to put the sunblock in the car. Did the same thing last year on my way home from TallPo's in SO Jersey, 2ish hour drive - I was a 1/2 way, lopsided lobster farmer that day... this one is just a teensy bit red right where the shirt ends... matches my handbag Ash ;P Don't tell me I don't coordinate people... h1. COORDINATE !!!! Je-ROD - did you know your Pops had a mushroom belt on ??? _Yes_ Je-ROD - did you know on the inside there was special mushrooms ??? *_YES_*

Prague & Budapest - Prague is by FAR my favorite bohemian city - My heart goes to all of Ireland (course) & London gets loads of luv from me as well. I am desperately wanting to hit Budapest - maybe later this year or early next... I actually love travelling to Europe on the off seasons - the weather is milder than it is in PA & the crowds aren't ridiculous... that's just me though :) Can't wait to hear bout your adventures darlin :) *Kevin ;P*: I spent a year of my college existance in a suite with 6 guys & their friends, watching *FULL METAL JACKET* _at LEAST_ once a week - smoking herb, listening to the beautiful _Neil McClellan_ play the hell outta his acoustic for me any time I requested, doing drivebys past the security booth at 2am - he worked the night shift a lot & hearing about all his conquests - I was the one that got away aparently - *_(WHY, oh WHY don't they ever let you know at the time ???? I could be the one that STAYED FOREVER - I figured he never made a pass cuz he thought of me as a little sister)_* & playing MORTAL COMBAT... didn't get no betta. We'd pass each other on the way to class along the trails all through the forest o' DREW: h1. "FINISH HIM" !!! Being the lizzard of the group - I was +almost always+ *Reptile*, every once in a blue moon I'd go with Sub-Z or Scorpion... but usually *Reptile* Watch out for the tongue Kevin ;P

    Cody B says While in NYC, walk a lot. The Lower East Side is bustling these days and Williamsburg (Just a few stops on the L train) if you deign to visit the bourough of Kings, Brooklyn. Enjoy it sister. I have been known to visit a cafe and MOG..plenty of places to do that. Whatever you do, get yourself out of that Disney- land-mall they call midtown.

Here's a list of acts that have so far been confirmed for this year's festival (and we're still two months out). Lots of international acts that I've never even heard of. This thing is going to be absolutely crazy! I can't actually promise that I'll make it back. From what I've seen of eastern European women...yeah! :D
