Music for my Mind

Posted almost 5 years ago
I can't believe that Jay Kay slipped my mind during the 420 revolution ... there are so many wrongs with this - I won't bore you. This is quite obviously not Jamiroquai - nor is is Stuart Zender (who coincidentally grew up in PHILLY). But this kid is quite good - keeps up with Stuart's bass line. I will say that I thought & still think that the loss of Stuart on Jamiroquai's line-up lessened the bassline in the future albums (in my opinion) - and that is such a driving force of Jay Kay's music. Too bad the lads couldn't kiss & make up !Plus the added bonus of HORNS - Rawk & Kris, this one's for you.

  2. Lizziegreeneyes says Aside from the recorder and kazoo - there really isn't an instrument I don't like ... but yeah, as a girl listening to music - really through college as well - I ADORED the bass - nothing like a thumping bass that you feel in your chest !!! Can't tell you the countless college buddies I introduced to this band with this song ... much green & much appreciation - foe show ;)

  4. Lizziegreeneyes says Gonna have to look further into the other projects Stuart's been involved in since disbanding from Jamiroquai. It's funny - loads of Jamiroquai fans have been quite vocal in not liking the newer stuff ... but for me, I love them - plain and simple, I may miss certain aspects - Stuart leaving a prime example - but to see that little fecker up on stage running round like a crazyperson - he feels it the way I do and how can I not respect & admire & love that ??? Plus - no lie - the first time I saw them - Return o' Space Cowboy tour - Jay Kay ran around the stage with his mic shouting legalize - with a huge bag or green & some of the other members chasing him round the stage. He then gets the didgeridoo player Wallis to roll a big fatty and the whole band partakes when they can ... hysterical. Kat/Troy: how did I miss writing about this on Friday ...
