2008... The Year of the MOGTIPLYFestivals

Tis the season I guess. I for one (& know the rest who met up in Indio two weeks ago would agree) would have loved to have had EVERYONE there !!!It was an unbelievable time, made all the more special sharing it with people we've loved over the internet & finally got to give actual hugs to - no longer stuck with ::eHugs:: as our only connection.??From this point on though, I'll speak from my personal perspective.?? I have a few words of advice to all out in MOGland...If you EVER have the opportunity to go to any of the many MANY festivals this summer - *go to at LEAST one & post some info on MOG before you do...* Chances are a few other MOGgers from the area, or the ??Traveling Wilbury's?? that some are, will be heading to that same festival & this gives you the perfect opportunity to meet up with some of the most amazing, loving, hysterical, talented & brilliant lot you could hope to know. *Friends for Life* is not just a saying anymore - ??*for me it is a total reality !!!*?? I even go so far as to say... if you're comfortable doing so, discuss sharing accommodations with them. It saves money for beer, festival tshirts, water & the ridiculously priced burritos that are OH SO TASTY !!! Plus it adds to the whole never-ending genius that we are. We're really cool you (all) & me included. We're great people & we're loads of fun. I promise you won't laugh as hard as you do when you're among other fellow MOGgers smushed into a way too small room, but still loving every tightly squeezed minute of it. It's over in a blink, so gather all those moments & lock them in your memory vault. They will keep you going for a long time & you will always have NEXT YEAR'S festival season to add to those memories.I am an only child with tons of siblings thanks to MOG & I've had the good fortune to meet several of them, add to the brood & intend to keep doing so with each new MOGger that I meet. Sure a few tears were shed whilst burning up in the Indio sun, but they were all TEARS OF JOY... Right Amberlicious (my sister) !!!*BIG LOVE TO ALL YOU KIDDIES... now GET OUT THERE & FEST !!!**I DEMAND IT !!!*::BIGSQUOOSHYHUGS:: til I give you one in person !!!

    Groon says See, one day I hope to get out to one of these festivals. With the family it probably won't happen for a long time, though. This is why we need to organize a huge MOG meet, somewhere rather centrally located, where I can spin it as a "family vacation where Daddy just goes away for a day."

Looks like a yearly event for some of us !!! *Torch* gonna try for maybe a day of Virgin - but I know of *AT LEAST* two to three other MOGgers going that I HIGHLY suggest you get with - Will, Katrina & Ian ;) *Groon* WORK IT baby OWN IT !!! *Cameron* You ??KNOW?? I hear you on that one !!! We will paint the Red Rocks REALLY RED !!! *Bill* Darlink you too !!! & I hope you can make it out to Downingtown for Mexican & Victory !!! Miss you darlin - somethin awful !!! We will always have Moroccan eats in Philly *&* London !!!

    Lady Miss Ian says MOG is like the bulletin board at the coffee shop or record store, where you can post something like "Are you going to BigMondoFestival in AbbaDabbaDo? Want someone to share gas / lodging expenses?" It's like rolling the dice and seeing what kind of weird, wonderful musical magic happens. I'm so glad you guys got to have such a great experience at Indio. It's a big ol' country (not to mention World!) and so many chances to music mad moggers to meet up and discuss plans for world domination. :-)

So what's a couple of weeping greeneyed girls to do? PLAN ANOTHER GROUP FESTIVAL GET TOGETHER! Coachella was EPIC but it doesn't have to be the one and only EPIC weekend. I will be at Sasquatch at the end of this month. More are always welcome at the camp site or in a seat of one of the caravan of cars heading to The Gorge. Then there's Lollapalooza, with a couple of other music FREEKS I met here on MOG. And last, but CERTAINLY not least, Megalith...MOGolith...Polylith. Call it what you want but there is a major MOGtiply smack down happenin' there in September. And that's plenty of time to plan for youse alls. Right now, confirmed! are 6 with serious options of 2 more MOGGERS to hang with. We will be crowded, sharing thin air to breathe and smooshed back seats to travel in, and you will never have a better time then if you join for the FESTivities. Come on...you know you want to...

    Dale says I went into Coachella this year thinking "one and done", you know, go there, have the experience and then at least I could say that I've done it. Then I went with the MOGachella group. I don't think I can envision another April weekend without going to Coachella with friends like that ever again. I'm dead excited for the Monolith Festival, not just for the locale (holy cow, RED ROCKS!), not just for the bands (APTBS again, drooooool), but mostly for the people (Amber, Lizzie AND Erin, __swoon__). Seriously, if you get a chance to do the festival thing with a group of MOGgers, DO IT! You'll never be the same again. :)

    Lizziegreeneyes says Airfare will be around $200 clams... tickets to the fest $110, lodging will be good n cheapish - around $40-$50 per person for all three nights. So you're looking at some food/beer money for the time at the fest & for our shared breakfasts at the suite. Grand scheme - cost isn't too bad really. Conservatively... $450-$500
