MUSIC CHATTER AND MATTER

You No Likey _My_ FF Contribution... *Blame Bruce ;P*

h1. I keed, I keed ;)I will have only myself to blame... but I can't help the fact that this is one of the final albums I heard last night - whilst fulfilling my duty to the _*OTHER "M"*_ in my life... & hooking up a friend.*+Throwing Muses+* Like so many other bands during my formative years, they were a fixture in my life (are these years still in effect - I am still morphing so I guess they could be hanging round)? Tanya & Kristin, two strong & passionate women bringing all sorts of stylies to their musical feast & inviting any & all to become invested, to dine til full, then come back for seconds. I was still so heavily swayed to the male artists/bands/vocals at that time; I never did get into the Lisa Loebs or Julianna Hatfields of the music scene in the late 80s early 90s - too sugary for me. *Babes in Toyland, L7, 7 Year Bitch* great gals, great tunes... but the edge that _*INCLUDED*_ so much behind the sound, the depth of emotions rarely spoken, let alone sung; well that kiddies, belonged to the *Throwing Muses* in my life. They owned every song & made me a believer.Maybe you listen & say: _"why lizziegreen, these ladies aren't *FUNKAY* ??? What's your damage ???"_ But here's the thing, the key, the +*winning bet on GREEN*+ fact of the matter... that bassline. It's drenched in funk on so many of these tracks. Also, something in Tanya's vocals... those *strongsexytwistedsweatysheetssmudgedeyelinerredlipsticked* vocals, makes for a total girlcrush. Kinda PJ Harvey (lite) - maybe. But I didn't find PJ til college... another post another time.*Red Heaven & The Real Ramona* didn't leave my walkman or car stereo for quite some time in those days. Blaring as I coasted along the back winding country roads of Chester County with the Strawberry Girl at my side - the two of us singing like we really _KNEW_ what these lyrics were about... the real understanding came later - does that invalidate those times though, methinks not.I originally wanted to go with the title track off *+The Real Ramona+, _Counting Backwards_* as my first, but *_Ellen West_* won out in the end. So you have below two live tracks bookending one video..._*Ellen West*_*_Counting Backwards_*& cuz I likes ya... here's _*Hook in Her Head*_*Thank you &* h1. Happy Funky Friday Y'all !!!
