Track:Coming Home...
So I had the pleasure of seeing Corrine Bailey Rae and John Legend last night and I do have to say they both put on an incredible show! I wish Corrine would have worked the stage a bit more, but damn can that girl sing!! I wanted to post one of my favorite songs sung by John Legend, its arrangements and message are absolutely beautiful (yes..its true..i shed a tear when he played it last night - LAME i know..:P). As he played under a single spotlight, the performance was pure perfection and you could see that it had an impact on the audience as pictures from Iraq and war families were displayed behind him on the wall. Something that upset me though the most was watching a LOT of people get up and leave during the song because it was the last song of the night and they wanted to "beat the crowds"....ya live in new york city!! they're always crowds! and how disrespectful to walk out on a song with such a powerful message (posted some lyrics below). Howevah! Besides that it was an unbelievable show and I'd like to share this beautiful song with my fellow moggers!! :)
We fight to stay alive But somebody's got to die It's so strange to me A new year, a new enemy Another soldier gone to war
Another story told before Now it's told again It seems the wars will never end But we'll make it home again Back where we belong again We're holding on to when We used to dare to dream We pray we live to see Another day in history Yes we still believe
