WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Mashin' under the covers...

Posted over 2 years ago
I was listening to another one of my massive playlists earlier today, and this one popped up...Talk about killing two birds with one stone - a cover song AND a mash-up! Gotta love it. Dolly does a surprisingly nice version of Stairway to Heaven here, and I really like the slower tempo of this mashup as well as the artists DJ Earworm chose for this mix.Check out DJ Earworm's website for more excellent mashups.http://www.djearworm.com/Have fun under the covers, and happy Sunday!Stairs to the sky

  1. Augusts1 says There's also an Art Of Noise song in there called "Moments In Love", the orchestral part near the beginning & an Annie Lennox/Eurhythmics song where it says "hear the sound of the underground change, though it feels like distant thunder" & "You know they're so many people living in this house, guess it's just a feeling, in the city"(wish I could recall the name of the song since I have it on one of their tapes/lps). Dolly doing "Stairway To Heaven" is a bit disturbing, fer chrissakes! Where is the Laurie Anderson part? Is that at the beginning where the "well you don't know me" part is? Very interesting mashup. Not sure I like it but I can appreciate the work that went into it.

  4. Librarianguish says Well August, I had a response to your comment, and it was there, then it was gone. I wonder if it will come back? Anyhow, that is Laurie Anderson at the very beginning of the song, from "O Superman." Makes me want to hear more of her!! Thanks for identifying some of the artists in that song. I thought I heard Annie Lennox in there! I bet now that I'm writing this again the other comment will come back.

  5. Mike the Knife says Yep. Earworm rocks it, and I've always liked this one even though it's all over the map...

  6. fistula spume says I love her version. I know some might think it to be an abomination (which is weird since saintly types thought the same of the original) but I love it. Dolly's version gets many spins at my house. Big love for posting.

  8. imsochilly says the thing i like about this is that it puts annie lennox and dollie parton together in one song, something i would have NEVER thought to do but it works, quite well!
