Oy. Back in the day, when I saw my first Walkman, owned by someone in my, probably fifth or sixth grade class, this was the tape. That and Eye of the Tiger, by Survivor, and Dirty Mind, by Prince. From that moment, I was hooked, and still am. Oh wait, that's why I'm still here. But, shit I can still remember, like, we waited in line because only one guy had a Walkman, and we all wanted to hear that Survivor song, and we all had seen Rockit on Night Tracks, wow, we just qued up to hear it. Lovin' the stretched out electrical Herbie, and I can certainly relate to his funk period, but one step below JB in the funk pantheon..I can't go there. That being said, I love Sextant and this track.
