Essential Listening pt 72

Posted over 4 years ago
This last album from the Gods doesn't get the love as the two that came before it, and I really can't understand why. It has lots of deep, sad, foreboding songs on it already knowing the time was short for the boys in the band, too bad we didn't see it then, and it has my favorite by them on it, too...

  1. ZZTodd says it is an underrated, for sure, although i certainly don't think it's as good as superunknown and badmotorfinger. like you said, there are some great songs on it. i'm a big fan of "Overfloater" as well

  4. donia says I think the reason this album falls short of their first three is because it is full of deep, sad, foreboding songs. They started out heavy and powerful and ended up drifting toward adult contemporary. It's best they ended when they did.

  5. MilesTrane says this put me back in a cool place hearing this and of course now I gotta dig out some soundgarden

  7. MrJones says you've got good taste. down on the upside was one of my favorite albums when i was younger. pretty noose and burden in my hand are great, in my books. me and one of my buddies on a hockey website were talking about this album not too long ago, and we both agreed that it's very under rated... it's almost like the forgotten soundgarden album, among a lot of folks. and that's a shame.

  8. Girlcrawl says Great track; think perhaps with time, and less comparison to earlier Soundgarden records, this album will gain appreciation. Thanks for posting.
