WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Lester Loves The 80's Pt 14

Posted over 2 years ago
When I wa sin high school, there were all these people who were son anti REM, they were mostly chubby geeks whose older brothers had graduated from the same high school in the mid 70's listening to Prog Rock. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but they let it cloud their judgment and never give _new_ (by 1987) standards of Prog rock a chance. Me, this song always blew me away. Plus, it was the last gasp of major indie rock in America in the 80's. I still listen to this album. Often.

  1. Dale says That album is still my favorite REM album; it reminds me of being a freshman in college and blowing off all responsibility.

  3. B42 says Thanks Lester, Crazy Monday morning, I had a lot of REM on my ipod but had to rearrange things as they were coming up too much, a lot of it sounded too similar but I don't think this album was on it.

  4. mktackabery says Ditto Dale, hands down this is tied for my favorite R.E.M. album along with Fables of the Reconstruction. It was the soundtrack of my life in 1988.

  5. Groon says Didn't really hear REM until Out of Time, and wasn't too impressed (I wasl all, "THIS is the band I've heard so much about?") Then I went back and heard Document and it completely blew me away. I've bought a lot of older REM now, but this album is still my favorite. There's not a thing you could change on this album to make it better, it's pretty much perfect.

  6. moovyphreak says This came out before I really listened to the band, but I'm also about 10 years+ younger than y'all, so that better explains it. Now though, I love R.E.M. (especially their older stuff).
