The longest day of the year. Summertime is my favorite. Endless days, warm nights losing their identities after a while, one lazy one right after another after another. Festivals and vacations. Swimming and sunning, the afternoon sun hanging in the air motionless forever. Good times, peoples, good times.

    fistula spume says It's been some pretty excellent weather in my neck o' the woods. Summer is very nice. Until it gets above 100 degrees for a stretch. Then I hate summer.

    moovyphreak says As long as I can have the occasional cool breeze to off-set the heat, I'm happy. Here in Upstate SC, it's been rather warm and humid in the daytime and cool & breezy at night.

    Groon says As a teacher, I love summer and the long, lazy days it gives me. But here in Charleston, SC (and hats off to you, neighbor Moovyprhreak) we have a bit too much humidity to call summer pleasant . . . unless you're at the beach. Otherwise it often feels like you're walking into a steam bath whenever you walk outside. Now, our springs here, on the other hand, are wonderful.

    goodnewsmyfriend says It's funny, I love summer at it's start, but a couple of days in and I'm praying for snow again. LOVE the Fountains Of Wayne song. Great tune from a great album.
