Gerard Way's brother leaves My Chemical Romance

Mikey Way takes a break following weddingMy Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way is temporarily leaving the band to spend time with his new wife.The band will continue with a replacement.Mikey was married on March 8 to fiancée Alicia Simmons at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Way's brother and My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard served as best man.Writing on their official website "My Chemical Romance.com":http://www.mychemicalromance.com/, Gerard said: "The band has decided to give him and his wife a much needed break from the road to start a life and have a proper honeymoon and do all the things a newlywed couple should do."I'm very proud to announce my brother's recent marriage. Watching him grow up into a man and finding love makes me the happiest brother alive. I know this is upsetting news, as it is for us, but we will continues to tour with a temporary replacement until he has situated himself in his new life."There was no mention of how long the bassist would be away from My Chemical Romance.The name of his replacement has not been given.

    RGM says It happens I have a friend of mine in a band that won't tour amymore because it affected his marraige in a negative way. I say Music is great and fun and for me I call it the greatist of my lesser loves, but in no way,shape or form will ever replace my marraige to my wife.

    Cinful says I have total appreciation for musicians because of all the touring, etc.. I know when my son was in his emo/screamo group a couple years ago, it really took it out of him. Between high school, his job, band practice, shows and traveling to shows out of town, he was exausted!! I don't know how these groups manage to have relationships at the same time ... it's gotta just be so difficult on them (and their families). well, I hope he has a great honeymoon and if he makes it back to MCR, that'll be great ... if not, you know he's enjoying his happy marriage :^)
