For everyone who pigeonholed Blind Melon the second they heard _No Rain_, I invite you to listen to this.
For a while, I was the same way, and then when Shannon Hoon died, it all just kind of made sense to tuck Blind Melon away somewhere never to be seen or heard from again, like the dollar rack at the used cd store. But then in 1999 my sister came to visit me, and she was jamming _Soup_ and _Nico_. I made copies on a minidisc, and the rest, as they say..I don't know why it took so long for me to hear it, but once I did, wow. I don't know what I did or thought before I knew this record, made it a part of me, like I do a lot of music. But damn, thanks Shannon, for this one, one of the best of the nineties, believe it.
