    MilesTrane says last year i flew down to meet with muzak in north carolina or sumthin . . . expecting to be disgusted i was actually blown away by the operation and by the office space . . . ok i know that sounds wierd but it was this super cool very open everyone in a cube thing that was modern and progressive - more like seattle or san francisco industrial chic loft vibe than north carolina and MUZAK . . . Muzak was feeling kinda almost hip to me. . wtf? ? the only people who worked in closed rooms were the actually music programmers who programmed the bagillion channels that they create for their clients . . . these guys were muzos with the best day gig in town - in Charlotte they got to listen to music all day and make playlists essentially. . .they program a ton o channels including many that many of us would actually think have good music in them . . . dare I say it . . . . .MUZAK is cool? the name always represented the worst of the worst to me. now that's some brand equity/baggage they gotta carry. but i will say this, they ain't our daddies muzak. I just checked out their website and they had a killer stan getz track playin. . . intersting biz model and I like to see songwriters getting paid for uses of their music http://www.muzak.com

    Lester Jonze says Yes, a gazillion channels being broadcast from right here in my own hometown, and I am only capable of acessing one from where I work. JUKEBOX GOLD. The irony here is of Wuthering Heights quality. If they have acess to all this music, why do I hear the same songs every day, some every other. I admit the playlists are quality, but they are repetitive. So I guess it has a ay to go. But it beats the hell out of listening to Lite104.7, mixing yesterday and today, all the time.
