NIck Drake Weather...

Posted over 2 years ago
And finally the long Summer and never ending Indian portion of the warm season has been chased away by the cold, windy witches of "Samhain":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samhain returning to us the dark half of the sky and all of the winter stars so visible in the crisp sunset. These days are short and fleeting, in years to come they will only exist in memories...

  1. Lady Miss Ian says Ah, very good soundtrack for the greying days. The lack of light is becoming quite noticeable in the center coast of the US, as well, and Nick expresses that feeling to a T.

  4. deadmandeadman says Very well done. Your broad strokes of subdued color (in Prose & pics) exquisitely sets the mood. The tune is the soundtrack and the cherry on the Sunday. Take a bow, Lester.

  6. FastRMacR says That first sentence of yours knocked me out! Fantastic tune. Beautifully crisp, dark skies here over this last new moon have shown - oh so nicely - a brilliant, cosmic rogue named Holmes. Elementary telescoping and hot chocolate! I love listening to Nick Drake and Iron & Wine when I'm star-hopping the chilly nights.

  7. moovyphreak says Big Nick Drake fan here. I bought the Fruit Tree box set several years ago before they re-released the remastered edition. Last I looked on Amazon, it said it was out of print again. But, upon seeing this post, I decided to look again. Seems it's getting another re-issue in a couple of weeks. See here for more info. Have you seen the documentary on him titled A Skin Too Few: The Days of Nick Drake? It's not been released on DVD here in the States, but I managed to track down a copy and plan to burn it to DVD soon. http://www.nickdrakefilm.com/

  13. TylerDurden says East coast America was also dreary and dead, reminded me of a stroll through a graveyard and 6:00am with my headphones on and a heavy fog creepin across the 65 acres....what a nice walk that was....thanks for the jam BRAH Jack's stained door beneath the floor, Tyler Durden
